Your responsibilities

As a University Lecturer in Computer Science, you teach at undergraduate and advanced levels in Swedish and English, and supervise students within the various programs of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Your main duties include course development, course responsibility, teaching and examination, project supervision, thesis supervision, and various forms of administration. Your responsibilities also include keeping up with developments within your own subject area and societal development in general that are relevant to the work at the university. To contribute to a good working environment and the development of operations, you are present and participate in daily work and community life. You are flexible and able to move between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed a master's degree or have equivalent competence, and who have demonstrated pedagogical skill.

For this position, special emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skill. The following will be assessed regarding pedagogical skill:

• Documented pedagogical skill and the ability to reflect on one's own teaching practice are requirements for the employment.
• Good knowledge of computer science and programming is a requirement.
• Documented experience in teaching basic programming to students at the beginner level is a requirement.
• It is meritorious to have broad documented knowledge in programming and AI/machine learning.
• Documented teaching experience in some of the above areas is particularly meritorious.
• Experience from leading large courses involving many teachers is meritorious.

Since teaching is conducted in Swedish and English, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach in both Swedish and English.

Your workplace

The Department of Science and Technology (IDA) was founded in 1983, but our roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in Northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of areas, from fundamental computer science to applied fields. The extensive research also influences our undergraduate and doctoral education, leading us to offer courses within several civil engineering and university engineering programs, as well as programs in innovative programming, cognitive science, and statistics. This temporary position is located at the Division of Human-Centred Systems (HCS). Teaching and research within the division cover areas such as programming, web programming, databases, game programming, interaction programming, service design, cognitive science, and human-computer interaction.

About the position

Fixed-term employment for 11.5 months with a workload of 100 percent.

Start date according to agreement.
