The Neurology Clinic in Lund is a large specialist clinic, and our diagnostic groups include MS, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, Parkinson's disease, brain tumors, ALS, and Huntington's disease. The operations are based on teamwork between doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, rehabilitation staff, and secretaries. The nurses working here at the clinic have different team affiliations and become experts in their respective areas; this competence is shared with colleagues in the neurology inpatient wards through good cooperation across care levels.

Development in neurological treatment is advancing rapidly, and significant research is conducted in neurology at Skåne University Healthcare (Sus). New guidelines are being developed both nationally and locally. We see that the need is increasing regarding both medication treatment, team assessments, and counseling within all our diagnostic groups, and we are therefore looking for a nurse to strengthen our operations.

Within our neurology operations area, we have started work on structuring competence development. We are part of the Competence and Service Model (KTM), which will provide the nurse with a clearer career path within the profession.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse at our clinic, you work independently with your own clinic sessions as well as telephone counseling for patients and their relatives. You work in close collaboration with doctors and rehabilitation staff, as well as having contacts with primary care and the municipality. We have a treatment unit that provides regular medication treatment for several different diagnoses. Additionally, we have a unit within the clinic that receives patients who need acute day-care assessment or investigation.

In Lund, we have a large neurology ward where national high-specialized care is conducted in several areas among other things. Collaboration occurs with the ward regarding our shared patients. Work on this ward is also included in your responsibilities according to new Sus guidelines effective from December 2025. This means that you will work at least two weekend shifts over five weeks on an inpatient ward within the same VO (Area of Responsibility), location, and specialty.

Furthermore, you will work as needed in our priority units, including telephone counseling, day care, and the treatment unit where regular medication treatments are given for several different diagnoses, primarily for those with neuromuscular diseases and MS. We operate in a dynamic environment, so tasks may vary when needs arise.

Region Skåne is investing in increased competence development for nurses. Within the neurology operations area, we have internal competence development with recurring training in the different diagnoses.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authorization to work in Swedish healthcare. You have knowledge of the Swedish language at a minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. You have worked as a nurse for a few years and have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner. If you have experience with clinic work, this is meritorious, as well as if you have experience with counseling and treatment experience within neurology. It is also meritorious if you have experience in the field of epilepsy as we need reinforcement in our epilepsy team.

Furthermore, you are a person with personal maturity and are secure in your professional role. We would appreciate that you have a forward-looking attitude with an interest in development and learning, but it is also necessary to have an interest in long-term contacts with patients and their relatives.
