Team Leader for the Foster Care Unit

The Foster Care Unit is part of the Children and Young People area within the Individual and Family Care department. The unit is responsible for placed children and young people aged 0–20, unaccompanied minors, contact activities, and contract management. The operations are organized into two groups: one group with child case workers and case workers for unaccompanied children, and another group with foster care secretaries, contact secretaries, and placement coordinators.

As a Team Leader, you will lead approximately 8–9 case workers and placement coordinators while also being part of the area's management team. The unit is led by a Unit Manager together with three Team Leaders, creating a clear structure for collaboration, steering, and development. Together, the management works to ensure legally secure, high-quality, and sustainable foster care, as well as a well-functioning and professional operation for children and young people.

1 position(s).

Responsibilities

As a Team Leader in the Foster Care Unit, you play a crucial role in maintaining daily operations and creating good conditions for both employees and the business. You are responsible for providing daily support to employees and distributing tasks in a way that creates clarity, structure, and a calm working environment. With your extensive experience in the field, you supervise difficult cases and serve as a reliable sounding board when complex issues need to be discussed.

You are an active part of the area's management and work closely with the Unit Manager and other Team Leaders within the Children and Young People department. Together, you drive development work, shape working methods, and create an operation characterized by quality, engagement, and care. Our leadership is based on proximity, accessibility, and genuine support for employees – both professionally and emotionally.

The Foster Care Secretaries and Placement Coordinators work with a strong focus on ensuring high-quality foster care. Legal security, child participation, and close support to foster families in collaboration with outpatient care are central parts of the assignment. In this role, you will help develop the work, strengthen structures, and contribute to creating long-term sustainable solutions for children and families.

We are looking for someone who thrives in change, wants to drive development, and is inspired by building, improving, and renewing. Here you have the opportunity to make a real difference – both for the operation and for the children and families we serve.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a Social Worker and have several years of experience in investigation work regarding children and young people within social services and foster care, with a focus on foster care investigations. You have a well-developed ability to lead and distribute work, create structure, and ensure that the operation maintains high quality.

Previous experience in personnel management is meritorious, as is a pedagogical ability to convey knowledge and guide others. You express yourself well both orally and in writing and are confident in making decisions even in complex situations.

You are structured, have good collaboration skills, and can prioritize based on the operation's needs. You see and utilize the different strengths of employees and drive the work forward with engagement.

Just as we value a good work environment where people support each other and have fun together, you do too. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Interviews are conducted continuously, and a probationary period may be applied. We warmly welcome your application!
