About the job

We offer a position within an intrapreneurship model for housing with special support. The operations are located at Flintyxegatan 4, Hagens stationsväg 34, and Björkedalsgatan 34. The units collaborate closely; as staff, you will have your primary placement at one of the units, with this specific role based at Flintyxegatan 4.

We are looking for someone particularly interested in meeting people with early developmental levels and those with both physical and intellectual disabilities. Our approach is based on the principle that every individual should be involved and have the opportunity to influence their daily life. The goal is to support the individual towards as independent a life as possible. Therefore, it is important that you have "an eye for small details" and are a good observer.

The support covers all daily situations, both at home and during leisure time. We also provide support for social and health-promoting activities, such as water aerobics, horse riding, and walks.

Documentation is done in the Treserva system. If you are not familiar with the systems used within the City of Gothenburg, you will receive training.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree from the Care and Nursing Programme, the Support Assistant Programme, or the Child and Leisure Programme with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the field of disability that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies (200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination). Alternatively, 60 university credits combined with at least two years of experience in support and service work for people with disabilities. The education must include relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

Language skills are crucial. You must have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, which implies a requirement for approved grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet this requirement, you may be offered a language test via Educateit.

Meritorious is experience in care and nursing and confidence in using assistive devices such as Bi-level, cough assist machine, sit-to-stand lift, and gastric tube feeding. Swimming ability is a requirement as you are expected to participate in activities such as pool swimming.

We work with methods such as LAB (Low-Affect Handling), AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), Clear Pedagogy, Sign Support, ESL (An Independent Life), IBIC (The Individual's Needs at the Center), and MI (Motivational Interviewing). Previous experience with these methods is considered meritorious.

You show respect and consideration for the people you meet and have an open, positive attitude where the user's needs are central. You are driven by contributing to others' learning and creating conditions for this. You have the ability to explain information in different ways and encourage dialogue, involvement, and engagement.

Teamwork is important to us. You should be able to collaborate effectively, create a respectful climate, and make well-founded decisions even under time pressure. Good computer skills, knowledge of social documentation, and a Category B driver's license with driving experience are meritorious.
