Job Description

At the medical department, you will meet patients with a wide variety of internal medicine diagnoses such as infections, heart failure, and COPD, often elderly and multi-morbid. A part of the infection flow consists of orthopedic patients. As a nursing assistant with us, you are offered a developing job in a good work climate with wonderful colleagues. You work with standard nursing assistant tasks for a medical department and assist with basic and specific care for our patients. Additionally, you are responsible for mobilization and training related to the patient's ability to perform activities in daily life (ADL). Your duties also include assisting nurses in their work.

Aside from direct patient care, all employees are involved in developing and improving care. We regularly offer development initiatives aimed at increasing competence for you as a nursing assistant and leading to various competence cards.

The advertisement concerns three permanent positions and two fixed-term contracts of approximately one year. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and nights, and you will work two out of five weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current program structure. You also have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have any of the following, but it is not a requirement:

• Experience in care work within internal medicine and/or geriatrics.
• Experience working with vital parameters to assess health status or detect changes/deterioration (NEWS).
• Experience handling nutritional tubes and/or catheterization of the urinary bladder.
• Experience working in the care system Melior.

In contact with patients and relatives, we expect you to be responsive and have a humble and empathetic approach. You are curious and want to learn new things, which is seen in your way of taking initiative at the workplace. If you do not have this certificate, you will be employed as a care assistant and the employment will be fixed-term, pending the certificate.
