We are looking for you who want to work for a lovely 22-year-old young man. He lives independently in his own apartment where he has assistance 24/7. Double assistance is provided during the day and evening, while single assistance is provided at night.

The position is a part-time role of approximately 50 % where you work as part of a team. Everyone works closely together, particularly during double assistance shifts. Our client has autism, epilepsy, and an intellectual disability. Although he faces many challenges in life, thanks to his wonderful assistants, he has the opportunity to live a rich and fulfilling life involving horse riding, swimming, and socializing with friends.

The more basic tasks involve Activities of Daily Living (ADL), communication using alternative methods, and training to help our client feel as good as possible physically and mentally. He needs help with everything in his daily life, such as care, meals, dressing/undressing, and training. You will be involved in all aspects of the client's daily routine, from household chores and cooking to various activities.

Our client loves being outdoors in nature, driving, and spending time with his friends. He enjoys music in all its forms. He attends day activities a couple of times a week and has other activities on the days he is not there. He swims every week, so swimming skills are appreciated.

Since he does not communicate verbally, we place great importance on the assistant being attentive and responsive to his non-verbal signals.

The Assistant's Role and Experience

We are looking for someone who is positive and active in their assistance. You should be able to maintain positive communication without expecting many verbal responses. You need to be able to bring yourself to the interaction and would preferably have some horse experience, as it creates a safe and pleasant environment every time our client goes for his adaptive horse riding.

You will receive thorough, individualized training regarding all aspects of the client's needs and routines.

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
• Previous experience as a personal assistant.
• Experience with epilepsy.
• A valid B-driver's license is required as the client has his own car which the assistants drive.
• Fluency in Swedish (spoken and written).
• Physically strong, as there are several transfers that can be physically demanding.

Working Hours/Employment Percentage

• Start immediately or as agreed.
• Part-time position: 50 %.
• Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends.
