We are now looking for a family therapist for our intensive assessment team – join us and develop with us!
Haninge is a forward-thinking municipality. In 2023, we were among the first municipalities to establish a first and second-line social services structure, a step in our adaptation to the future of social services and the new Social Services Act.
Within the second-line social services, Child Welfare area, we meet children and families assessed to be in need of interventions preceded by assessment, and we follow up on needs-based interventions. We work in a target-group-focused and team-based manner throughout the entire process. This means that we coordinate assessment and intervention in collaboration with both internal and external actors, and that we base our work on evidence- and knowledge-based methods.
The second-line social services Child Welfare area consists of units within assessment, foster care/contact activities, as well as interventions and special functions. The area as a whole is led by a Area Manager, each unit is led by a Unit Manager, and each group has its own Group Leader.
Welcome to our unit: The Unit for Interventions and Special Functions!
Our unit works with targeted functions and is divided into two groups, each with its own Group Leader. One group focuses on residential care (HVB) placements and interventions, and the other group focuses on safety planning, SIP coordination, and intensive home-based assessment.
We are now looking for a family therapist or family pedagogue who wants to join the team for intensive assessments. During an intensified assessment period, we assess the child's situation, need for protection and support, and readiness for change work. The target group is children who have previously been subject to assessment where the concern was based on failing parenting capacity and related issues. The work takes place largely in the family's home through conversations, observations, and minor interventions (such as introducing visual aids or similar). The working model means that the intensive assessment team initially maps the family's history and current situation, and then intensively, over 6–8 weeks in the family's home environment, carries out both investigative and intervening measures. Thereafter, the assessment is compiled with a focus on needs and goals for further interventions. Once the interventions are underway, the case is handed over to a social worker for further follow-up.
You are expected to work in a structured manner with great flexibility based on the specific situation of the children and parents. The idea is that we should already work during the assessment period to initiate a positive change process. In many cases, this also involves engaging and mobilizing the family's network.
Your Role
- In a team together with a social worker, you assess the needs of children and young people for protection and support, where your focus is on the child's needs and development, observations, readiness for change work, and network work.
- You need to be flexible with working hours as part of the assessment work will be conducted in the family's home environment, which may involve working hours scheduled for early mornings and afternoons. You and your co-case manager determine yourselves, based on the nature of the case, which home visits need to be conducted.
Your Qualifications
- Social Work degree or a degree in behavioral science, social pedagogy, or similar.
- Experience working within social services with children and young people, or other relevant experience working with the target group.
- Good knowledge of social services processes.
- Experience or special competence in children's needs/development, observations/interaction, and parenting/parental support.
Meritorious
- Knowledge of BBIC.
- Knowledge of Signs of Safety.
Your Competence
As an employee here, it is natural that you enjoy collaborating with others, but also that you can work independently. You have an easy time building good relationships, you are receptive and clear in your communication. You have good knowledge of child development and keep up with current research. You need to have the ability to limit your scope of work, work calmly and methodically. We are looking for someone who can see the possibilities in complex social work, is good at collaborating, is flexible, curious, and has the child's best interests at the forefront.
What We Offer You
We who work here are knowledgeable and engaged in our work, care for each other, and value a good atmosphere in the groups. We want our work to be characterized by consensus, quality, and legal certainty, and we believe it is important to develop in our work. We are a happy work group and enjoy working together, even though we have different tasks within the group.
In order to strengthen our quality and create conditions for our employees to use their competence resource-efficiently and with the child's best interests at the forefront, we have chosen to make the following investments:
- Proximity to the nearest manager and accessible group leaders.
- A well-established structure for regular support, such as case reviews and external supervision.
- Specialist social workers with a cross-organizational assignment within e.g., introduction, method support, implementation, and recurring training.
- A business developer as support in our continued development with a target-group-focused approach.
- A placement coordinator as support in seeking external placement forms and handling contracts.
- Administrators with the task of relieving and supporting.
- We have a structure to enable remote work for those who wish and based on the needs of the business.
