The role of a teaching teacher in the Gimo school area, Vallonskolan, is an exciting and varied assignment. Here, you will collaborate with colleagues to develop, lead, and distribute work tasks. You will become part of one of Vallonskolan's four work teams, which complement each other.

Teamwork is very important to us. Although responsibilities are shared among the team, the overall responsibility for the school's operations lies with the principal. Vallonskolan is a school for grades 4–9 with 250 curious and eager students originating from 15 different countries. Next to Vallonskolan is Vretaskolan, the school area's preschool to grade 3 school. A total of approximately 20 different languages are spoken, and we view this diversity as a strength. The staff here is also characterized by a burning commitment to their students' development towards knowledge goals.

Vallonskolan is close to nature and associated sports facilities. Together, we have developed a student perspective and value base to support our work. During the academic year, we will continue to work on our value base and what Vallonskolan stands for. We work according to an annual cycle called "Succeeding Together," where you have the support of clear municipal plans and routines, as well as collegial professional development.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher and mentor with us, you will become part of our work team at the lower secondary level. You will meet engaged and positive colleagues who collaborate closely with the school's students, guardians, and management. You will serve as a mentor and teach Physical Education (PE) in grades 4–9. We plan and develop the operations together, working to challenge and support every student so they all have good conditions to meet future challenges and opportunities. We do this in close collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in French, or alternatively, have a pedagogical background, a strong interest in teaching, and very good subject knowledge. If you want to contribute to our team of happy, engaged teachers, you are welcome to have experience meeting students with different needs, in addition to teaching experience. You should have good IT skills to familiarize yourself with the systems we use daily. Knowledge of Unikum and Teams is an extra plus.

There are some abilities we see as particularly important in our work, which we hope you recognize in yourself. Collaborating with colleagues to create the best possible conditions for our students is one such ability. Building safe and trusting relationships is another – this is an asset in your relationship with students as well as with colleagues and guardians. A positive attitude and strong commitment also help inspire and show students (and us colleagues) possibilities and solutions. We place great emphasis on your personal abilities, pedagogical competence, professional approach, and knowledge- and student perspective.
