We are now looking for a nurse with a genuine interest in palliative care for our well-functioning and appreciated unit in Trelleborg. The palliative care department is organizationally part of the Administration for Close Care and Health, within the business area of mobile teams and specialized palliative care in southwestern Scania. We offer specialized palliative care with the aim of relieving symptoms and preventing suffering in connection with incurable or chronic illness, regardless of age or diagnosis. Care can be provided as inpatient care on the ward, which has six beds, admission within advanced hospital care at home (ASIH), outpatient care, or at home and in special housing. The care is specialized based on each individual patient's needs.
The operations in Trelleborg is a unit consisting of teams with nurses, assistant nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, doctors, and medical secretaries. We constantly work to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes with their specific competencies where our joint efforts make a big difference for patients and relatives. The palliative care department has a close collaboration with ASIH, which has 17 beds in our catchment area of Trelleborg, Svedala, and Vellinge municipalities. In addition, we collaborate with hospitals and various clinics.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We offer you a developing and exciting job where you become part of an interdisciplinary team. You lead and actively participate in the planning of the patient's daily care together with other professions and in cooperation with other healthcare providers.
The work involves performing assessments and nursing from a holistic perspective. Patients admitted to the ward need specialized palliative care, which means they often have a complex symptom picture or their life situation entails special needs. We handle daily everything from medical tasks such as giving injections, connecting infusions and medication pumps, inserting catheters, and performing drainage taps via various types of drainage to having supportive conversations with the patient or relative and being a support in contact with authorities.
We strive to offer patients and relatives qualified care, both medically and psychosocially, around the clock. The position therefore involves working partly on irregular hours. Here, there is an opportunity to make a difference and be satisfied when the shift is over.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the right to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. We would like you to have a few years of professional experience as a nurse. If you have specialist education in palliative care and/or oncology, it is welcome, but not a requirement.

A large part of the work involves support and conversation, whereby you need to have good social competence, good communication skills, and teamwork ability. You have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritize between different tasks. Being able to work independently and make your own decisions is important, while you value teamwork. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, reception operations within close care, emergency care within close care, 1177 by phone, and some region-wide functions. In addition, the administration is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Scania. The number of employees is estimated to be around 1,000.
