Employment Consultant for the Labor Market Unit in Grästorp Municipality

The Labor Market Unit (AME) is part of the social services in Grästorp Municipality. Our mission is to support individuals outside the labor market in achieving self-sufficiency through work or studies. We work with participants aged 18–64, but young people from age 16 can also be part of our target group through the municipality's activity responsibility. We are also responsible for receiving newly arrived residents who have been granted residence permits and housing in the municipality.

Here, we offer various trial activities within café operations, administration, local maintenance, green area management, and service. We also run the Culture Café in Grästorp's cultural house. The small size of the municipality means we have close access to collaboration partners and decision-makers, creating good conditions for creative and solution-focused work. Currently, we are undergoing a transition process related to the introduction of the activity requirement reform, and as a collaborative leader, you will have the opportunity to help develop our operations.

Your Role

As an Employment Consultant, you will become a key figure in our work supporting participants towards self-sufficiency. You will work closely with participants, employers, educational providers, and colleagues within the municipality, recognizing the importance of collaboration. You will map needs, create individual plans, and coordinate interventions based on the participants' prerequisites.

Your responsibilities include:

• Guidance, support, and matching for work or education.
• Motivational interviewing and work-oriented activities.
• Assistance with job search activities, CVs, cover letters, and digital skills.
• Integration work – from receiving newly arrived residents to establishment in working life and society.

You will be part of a work group with coordinators, employment consultants, and supervisors who work closely together.

As a person, you are positive, creative, and receptive, with good self-awareness and the ability to maintain professional distance. You are flexible and open to change.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

Alt. 1
Has a university degree in behavioral science, pedagogy, social pedagogy, social work, or other relevant education.

Alt. 2
At least one (1) year of full-time studies at the post-secondary level and at least three (3) years of work experience within some of the following professions or tasks:

• Recruitment.
• Transition work for job seekers.
• Study and career guidance.
• Work with labor market and employment issues.

Requirements:

• Computer literacy and a valid driver's license (Category B).
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), BIP, Supported Employment (SE), or IPS.

Personal suitability is of great importance.
