Support Teacher and Support Assistant for New LSS Residence in Svanberga
Tiohundra ABStockholms län, Norrtälje
Previous experience is desired
Do you want to be part of building something new from the ground up?
We are now launching a new LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) residence in Svanberga for young people aged 13–19, and we are looking for dedicated support assistants and special needs teachers who want to help shape the operations from the start.
About the role
We offer you a unique opportunity to be involved in developing an operation entirely from the beginning. Here, you work with young people with disabilities, where pedagogy, structure, and security are in focus. We work based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) with a focus on good living habits, which permeates both the planning and implementation of support.
In this role, you provide individually adapted support and services with the goal that each young person can live as independent and meaningful a life as possible based on their prerequisites. You adapt your approach to the individual's needs and contribute to a safe, structured, and predictable daily life.
The positions are permanent employment with a start date to be agreed upon during September–October. The work is scheduled on a rolling basis (day/evening and every other weekend).
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on support measures based on decisions of assistance and implementation plans, in line with IBIC.
- Working with clear pedagogy, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), cognitive aids, as well as structure and routines.
- Collaborating with guardians, case workers, schools, and other support functions.
- Performing delegated tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).
- Creating safety, structure, and predictability in daily life, especially in work with autism.
- Providing support in care, communication, and social situations.
- Promoting good living habits through, for example, diet, physical activity, and meaningful leisure time.
- Performing everyday household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
What we offer
We offer regular supervision and work from a functional perspective as well as IBIC to ensure high quality in the operation, while giving you good opportunities to develop together with an engaged team.
We offer an annual wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK.
About you
Requirements for this position:
- Special Needs Teacher: Post-secondary education with a focus on working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities – for example, a social work degree, special needs teacher education, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
- Support Assistant: Child and Youth Program, Care and Nursing Program with a focus on social work, or nurse assistant education with a focus on the disability area.
- Experience of working within LSS.
- Experience of low-affective approach.
- Good knowledge of social documentation.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of AAC, cognitive aids, and clear pedagogy.
- Valid B-driver's license.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Knowledge of the functional perspective.
- Knowledge of IBIC.
- Training in threats and violence, for example, Studio III.
As a person, you are sensitive, secure, and team-oriented. You have good self-awareness and understanding of how your own approach affects others, which is crucial in working with people. You work in a structured manner and follow routines, and have a good understanding of the importance of predictability, especially in work with people with autism. You also have pedagogical insight and the ability to adapt your approach based on the individual's needs.
