Do you have ideas for the future and are you driven by challenges? In Haninge, you will develop together with secure colleagues who want to make a difference today. Currently, one of the most ambitious change processes in our municipality's history is underway. We are building a new city, approximately 20 minutes from Söder. Join us on our journey.
We are part of the Child Operations area within Individual and Family Care. Together, we work for a coordinated social services system and we want to create and maintain a culture that promotes good treatment, high accessibility, and high legal certainty. We strive to develop more coordinated and integrated teamwork to better meet the target group's often complex needs.
Outpatient care works with a range of different interventions, and our mission is to strengthen the ability of people living with addiction or other issues to achieve a good quality of life and an independent life.
Your Role
We are now looking for a SIG-Youth Specialist who works therapeutically with children and youth aged 0–17, with criminal and/or norm-breaking behavior, with the aim of contributing to a lifestyle and behavioral change. The form of the intervention will be flexible to best suit the youth's needs. The intervention is provided as a voluntary outpatient service or after a court order within the framework of a Social Intervention Group (SIG). This means you need to build alliances while maintaining clear professionalism and structure. You need to be active and creative to best adapt the support to the youth and their family. Since part of the assignment needs to take place on the youth's arenas, some working hours will be scheduled for evenings and some weekends. An extra focus in this role will be on working towards a meaningful leisure time for the youth and coordinating interventions and youth services. You will become part of the SIG team, which currently consists of 5 coordinators.
The target group for SIG is children, young people, and adults at high risk of norm-breaking criminal behavior, and/or persons who wish to leave a criminal lifestyle and who are assessed to have a significant need for coordination between, for example, social services, police, habilitation, and psychiatry, among others. The work is carried out in close collaboration with actors such as the police, the labor market unit, probation services, and others. We work in a knowledge-based and structured manner with the target group based on the principles of RNR (Risk, Need, Responsivity) and with the support of methods such as FFT (Functional Family Therapy), Crime as a Lifestyle, Turning Points, and RePulse. To break a negative development, the treatment content in our interventions must explicitly focus on the risk factors that are assumed to maintain the client's norm-breaking behavior, and at the same time target several risk areas. We follow the research available in the field and work based on, among other things, the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines for work with social intervention groups.
We have good collaboration with the police, schools, leisure activities, and others in the municipality, and we have a well-established model for working with SIG that takes place on three different levels (governance, preparation, operational level) in the municipality where all affected administrations are represented. The steering group makes overarching decisions regarding resources, etc., and in the preparation group, preparation and prioritization of incoming and ongoing cases take place, and at the operational level, we work intensively and multimodally with the client and family and other interventions/functions connected to the case.
What We Are Looking For in You
- We are looking for you who have knowledge of social problems, the structure of crime, and other social phenomena related to crime.
- Suitable educational background is a social worker degree or other equivalent higher education, and experience working both independently and in teams, driven by supporting people in changing to an independent life.
- Previous experience working with the target group in outpatient care and/or with authority exercises is a requirement. You should have knowledge of current legislation and guidelines in the area.
- To create opportunities for change, it is important to involve more actors, both from the professional and private networks. Therefore, we prefer that you have education and experience in network work.
It is important that you are driven, see opportunities for development, and are flexible. You have very good communication and collaboration skills, are used to working independently, and have the ability to take initiative. You express yourself well in speech and writing and have the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and be flexible in your work. Work may occur outside office hours depending on the assignment.
A background check will be conducted prior to appointment.
What We Can Offer You
An engaging and challenging development job, together with knowledgeable colleagues and experienced managers. We sit in bright, pleasant office premises with good parking facilities and proximity to shopping centers, restaurants, nature areas, and Handens commuter train station. We have free access to the gym in the town hall, health care allowance, annual working hours, sandwich days, and the possibility of holiday exchange. In the role, you are given the opportunity for external supervision and continuous competence development based on needs.
