Do you want to work in a place where the smell of freshly baked bread meets curious questions about where the carrots come from? Förskolan Snigeln in Söderköping is now looking for an engaged preschool cook who wants to make mealtime one of the highlights of the day!

Förskolan Snigeln is an established parent cooperative that has been in operation since 1991. The proximity to forests and nature creates good conditions for an outdoor pedagogical approach. We spend a lot of time outdoors and take advantage of nature's opportunities for joyful learning. Within walking distance, we also reach the library and other parts of Söderköping's cultural life. The preschool is run as a parent cooperative, which means that the staff has the pedagogical responsibility while guardians handle operations and parts of the administrative work.

Learning takes place in everything we do, in play, in meal situations, in the hallway, and in the processes that occur in our project-based working method. Children develop their creative and exploratory sides in an enabling environment where participation and influence are highly focused.

A warm, open climate and close collaboration between all departments create a safe environment for learning.

The kitchen and its cooking contribute to many occasions where children get to participate and closely observe and feel how ingredients are handled and how food is prepared.

Who are you?

Pedagogical joy of food: You invite children into the world of cooking and let them explore ingredients and flavors.
Sustainable planning: You create a varied menu based on the Swedish Food Agency's recommendations, handle purchases within budget, and are responsible for hygiene and food handling as well as documentation according to food law.
Safety: You handle special diets and allergies with the utmost care so that all children can eat safely.

You prepare lunch, prepare snacks, bake bread, and do the dishes. Nutrition and the exploration of ingredients are part of the preschool's working method, with children's participation being a key component. This means that you are part of the preschool's education under the leadership of preschool teachers.

You are a flexible person who dares to challenge yourself and enjoys collaborating with other staff.

We want to establish lifelong positive food experiences for the children in our preschool and awaken children's curiosity about food, ingredients, and exciting flavors.
