The Department of Informatics and Media is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Uppsala University. The department has a broad research profile based on current research areas focusing on, among other things, information systems, interaction design, and media and communication. The Department of Informatics and Media has teaching responsibilities for program courses and standalone courses within the Faculty of Social Sciences. The department also operates at Campus Gotland. Respons

The position includes teaching, supervision, examination, and course administrative tasks within Media and Communication Science at the undergraduate and advanced levels.

The responsibilities include, among other things:

• Teaching in areas such as Media and Communication Science, including journalism theory, media theory, communication theory, organizational communication, and social science qualitative methods.
• Supervision and examination of independent degree projects.
• Opportunity for course responsibility, which includes planning, scheduling, implementation, examination, and follow-up of courses.
• Active participation in the department's meetings and development work regarding courses and teaching.

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Media and Communication Science or a closely related relevant subject.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the teaching is primarily conducted in Swedish.

Desirable/Additional Qualifications

• Experience in creating engaging and pedagogically well-structured teaching sessions.
• A completed PhD in a relevant subject.

About the Position

The position is fixed-term for 6 months. The extent is 80%. Start date: 2026-08-01 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
