We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. Working at SiS offers you an exciting professional challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what role you hold, you contribute to creating life-changing change.
SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS.
SiS Youth Home Fagared is currently seeking Treatment Assistants for summer temporary positions at our departments in Lindome. At the Lindome departments, we implement closed youth care for the target group of boys sentenced to a criminal sanction under the Act on Closed Youth Care. We also have a treatment department with a specially strengthened mandate where we receive young people with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including combinations of autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, PTSD, self-harm behavior, and severely aggressive behavior.
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you help ensure that routines on the department function as intended. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people and provide the foundation for daily life, such as school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives young people sentenced to a criminal sanction under the Act on Closed Youth Care, you must work with a high degree of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.
This is a job for you who can stay the course, creating security and safety in the often very difficult life situations of young people. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our core values are Respect, Care, and Clarity.
We want to reward those who help us during the summer period; therefore, you will receive a bonus if you work full-time as a monthly employed temporary worker for more than four weeks.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You must also have:
- Completed and approved upper secondary education
- Category B driver's license
- Very good Swedish in speech and writing, as the work may involve documentation and contact with other authorities
- Experience in youth-oriented work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, residential care for youth (HVB), or healthcare and social care.
According to the new Social Services Ordinance (2025:468), you who work with care and treatment for young people must also have at least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area. Exceptions to the requirement of at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases.
Employment:
The position is a fixed-term temporary position over the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the summer period.
Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.
As a summer temporary worker, you will undergo an adapted introductory training of 5 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to serve with us.
