We are looking for a structured and experienced Project Economist who wants to work with several EU-funded projects within destination development and the tourism industry.

Welcome to become part of our team, which every day makes efforts to strengthen the conditions for the county's tourism industry. As our current Project Economist is moving to a new role within the organization, we are now looking for a new star who wants to join our team.

Here, you will work in a development-oriented organization with many contact points and exciting projects at the regional, national, and international levels. The role suits you if you enjoy variety, structure, and being a key support in complex project environments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will work closely with project managers and management on financial reporting and administration related to nationally and internationally funded projects. You are responsible for ensuring that the projects' administrative and financial processes maintain high quality and comply with the funders' requirements.

  • Handles ongoing project administration, project accounting, and reporting funded by sources such as the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Tillväxtverket, Region Norrbotten, etc.
  • Handles the submission of requisitions to auditing authorities and funders, handling of supplements, and financial follow-up. The work is carried out in collaboration with the respective project managers.
  • Handles and develops project administration, documentation, and quality assurance of materials, and coordinates administrative processes between the organization's various projects.
  • Acts as administrative support in purchasing, contract, and procurement processes.
  • Supports the organization's project managers in budget and follow-up matters.
  • Supports internal employees as well as external project partners in matters regarding project administration.
  • Handles the purchase of office supplies and contributes to the organization's internal administrative routines.

You work in our administrative team and report primarily to our CFO, who is the organization's controller with overall responsibility for financial management and follow-up, and secondarily to the CEO.

Together with an internal working group, you plan and implement initiatives towards the tourism industry's stakeholders, condition creators, and decision-makers.

QUALIFICATIONS – we want you to:

  • have a relevant academic degree, education, or equivalent work experience
  • have experience in reporting and accounting for EU projects and "Min Ansökan"
  • be proficient in Excel and systems for administration and accounting
  • enjoy working independently and taking responsibility
  • have good skills in structuring, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines in work with many parallel processes
  • have good communication skills in both speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • have a Category B driver's license and the ability to travel for work

Meritorious:

  • experience in public procurement or procurement support
  • financial competence in bookkeeping
  • additional languages such as Sami or Meänkieli

  • Permanent employment starting as agreed
  • Scope: 75-100%
