For 25 years, Gryning has offered HVB (residential care) and open care for children, young people, and families, emergency and family homes, addiction care, supported apartments, interventions against honor-related violence and oppression, as well as LSS (support and service for persons with certain disabilities) housing. We offer counseling and education and assist with placements. Gryning is owned by the municipalities in Västra Götaland through four municipal associations.

Solsidan – An acute, assessment, and treatment home in Skara

The target group is children aged 0–12 years, who live with us for longer or shorter periods, with or without their parents. We offer 24-hour institutional care or apartment housing with adapted care efforts for families.

We are now looking for a committed therapeutic pedagogue to join our team for a permanent position at 80%, with a start date to be agreed upon. A probationary period may apply.

We operate 24/7, which means you will work according to a schedule with irregular working hours, including evenings and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What does the role entail?

As a therapeutic pedagogue, you participate in the work where you hold the milieu-therapeutic role in the daily routines of our admitted children and families, such as cooking, cleaning, and activities. You are expected to conduct conversations, behavioral observations, documentation, and maintain contact with, for example, relatives and authorities. Together with the treatment case manager, you are responsible for daily planning, care, and carrying out assignments. Although you are not expected to have case responsibility, you are expected to participate in other treatment and assessment work on the ward with the support of the treatment case manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have at least a two-year post-secondary education, or an education equivalent to this, with a focus on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area. It is an advantage if you have experience working in HVB and LSS settings and are accustomed to working based on MI (Motivational Interviewing), low-arousal approach, or other methods that the employer deems suitable for working with the target group. It is also an advantage if you have completed and hold certificates for training such as MI, TMO, Milieu Therapy, Re-UP (Repulse), The Staircase (Trappan), or Taping. You must have knowledge of current legislation in the field. Based on the needs of the children and families, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability, such as empathy, personal maturity, and good self-awareness. Since travel may be part of the job, a driver's license is a requirement.
