Do you want a key role in developing and strengthening financial management in Jokkmokk Municipality?

We are looking for a Business Economist who wants to combine financial work with team leadership responsibilities.

The financial function in Jokkmokk Municipality is a central support function that works closely with operations and management. Here you have the opportunity to influence, develop, and contribute to a long-term sustainable economy.

As a Business Economist with team leadership responsibilities, you have a central role in the municipality's financial function. You lead and coordinate operational work and create the conditions for budgets, follow-ups, and annual accounts to be carried out efficiently, legally secure, and with high quality.

You work closely with both operations and management, turning financial information into analyses and decision support materials that assist the municipality in steering and prioritization. The role involves both leadership and own operational work. You report directly to the Financial Director.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

Your main work assignments:

• Lead the budgeting and accounting process
  • Plan, coordinate, and follow up on budgets, forecasts, annual accounts, and financial statements.
  • Create timelines and guidelines, and ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Lead and coordinate the team's work
  • Plan, prioritize, and follow up on daily work.
  • Ensure correct reporting and reliable communication.
  • Quality assurance of forecasts and follow-ups.
• Drive development and improvement
  • Develop and streamline working methods, processes, and systems.
  • Contribute to the digitalization and automation of financial processes.
  • Participate in municipality-wide development work.
• Operational financial work
  • Ongoing reporting, accounting, and analysis.
  • Create decision support materials and support operations as needed.

The position does not include budget or personnel responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have:

• A degree in economics or equivalent experience assessed as comparable.
• Experience working with budgeting and accounting processes.
• Experience leading, coordinating, and/or driving work forward.
• Good knowledge of financial systems and the Office suite.
• Good communication skills.

Furthermore, it is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in municipal operations.
• Experience with the cost-per-unit model (prislappsmodellen).
• Experience with digitalization/automation of financial processes.

To succeed in the role, you are structured and analytical, with the ability to create order and clarity in complex contexts. You are communicative and pedagogical, with a working style characterized by collaboration, responsibility, and drive. You have a good ability to switch between a strategic holistic perspective and operational detail level, and can both identify development needs and ensure high quality in implementation. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
