Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS.

SiS Youth Home Fagared is currently seeking treatment pedagogues for summer temporary positions at our departments in Lindome. At the Lindome departments, we work to implement closed youth care for the target group of boys who have been sentenced to a penal sanction under the Act on Closed Youth Care. We also have a treatment department with a specially strengthened mandate where we receive youths with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, PTSD, self-harming behavior, and severe aggressive behavior.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youths to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment pedagogue, you ensure that routines on the department function as intended. You play a major role in the stability and security of our youths and provide the foundation for daily life, such as school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives youths sentenced to a penal sanction under the Act on Closed Youth Care, you must work with a high degree of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining security in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

This is a job for you who can stay the course, creating security and safety in the often very difficult life situations of the youths. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Our core values are Respect, Care, and Clarity.

We want to reward those who help us during the summer period; therefore, you will receive a bonus if you work full-time as a monthly temporary employee for more than four weeks.

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations.

Requirements are:

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a community college or university of applied sciences (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
  • Completed and approved upper secondary education.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing, as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities.
  • Experience in youth-oriented work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, residential care (HVB), or healthcare and social care.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term appointment as a temporary replacement over the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the summer period.

Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 5 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to serve with us.
