Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, is an agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people to new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you ensure that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people, and provide the foundation for daily life such as school attendance, cleaning, cooking, etc. You contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help our young people get the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day - evening and weekends.

As a summer temporary worker at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You must have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
• B Driver's License
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

It is also meritorious if you:

• Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Prison Officer
• Security Guard Training
• Education in care and nursing
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., youth care, young girls, etc.)

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Employment

• The position is a full-time temporary position during our vacation periods (June, July, August). We primarily prioritize you who can work both periods, then you who can work one of them. If you only have the possibility to work sporadic weeks or between periods, this needs to be communicated early.
• It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the temporary position starts, but it is not a requirement.
