In April 2023, we opened an acute-care rehabilitation medicine unit at the top of the Blocket building in Lund with a fantastic view. We are expanding our care capacity and are looking for an additional nurse to join our dedicated team in Rehabilitation Medicine in Lund!

The Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of Sweden's leading providers of spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation. We have been entrusted by the National Board of Health and Welfare to operate as one of four nationally highly specialized units. We have expanded our operations to accommodate more patients from a larger part of the country. We see patients of all ages who have suffered a spinal cord injury or other injury requiring acute-care rehabilitation due to trauma or illness. Patients come to us for help in becoming independent based on new life circumstances.

Our newly renovated facilities create the conditions for an inspiring environment where patient care of the highest quality is the focus. The unit complements the well-established operations currently located at Orupssjukhuset outside Höör.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your employment begins with a guided introduction, shadowing, and training in Rehabilitation Medicine, where we also collaborate with relevant acute care services within Sus and our units at Orupssjukhuset.

Here, you work closely with many different professional categories in an interdisciplinary team, where you all focus on the patient and their needs. The team meets several times a week to discuss the progress of rehabilitation and review current goals together with the patient. We strive for high staff density to meet the patient's rehabilitation needs.

"We have plenty of time for our patients, which provides good opportunities for both the patient and their relatives to adapt to their new circumstances. As a nurse here, it is important to give the patient knowledge and tools regarding their injury to increase their participation in decisions concerning their health and well-being."

For many years, we have worked systematically with quality through the accreditation organization Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which places high demands on routines and continuous improvement work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Your Swedish language skills correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous experience in acute care or neurological rehabilitation is meritorious.

We work in teams in close collaboration with our patients and their relatives. Therefore, it is important that you can collaborate and cooperate with your colleagues in your daily work. Here, we apply person-centered care with a holistic view of the patient. A central part of your work is your ability to easily contact different actors within the patient's care chain. As a person, you are a team player who easily sees solutions and enjoys patient-oriented work. Furthermore, you have good pedagogical skills, are proactive, engaged, and contribute to a good work climate. You are also accustomed to working independently and taking responsibility.
