Description of the subject area of the position: The subject area of the position is programming.
Responsibilities:
Teaching and administration. Teaching responsibilities include course coordination and course administration. The course and scope for which we are seeking a fixed-term University Lecturer are as follows:
- 1DL042 Programming (periods 1 and 2, Autumn Term 2026, Swedish)
Follow developments within the subject area and societal development in general that are relevant to work at the university.
Qualifications:
- A degree with subject specialization from higher education in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Pedagogical skill. It is required that the pedagogical skill and subject specialization are relevant to the subject area of the position and the duties included in the position.
- The applicant must have completed higher education pedagogical training relevant to university operations, comprising ten weeks, or have acquired equivalent knowledge.
- Documented ability to teach in Swedish, unless special reasons exist.
- Personal qualities required to perform the position well.
Evaluation criteria for applicants meeting the above qualifications
In the selection among qualified applicants, special weight will be placed on both documented subject specialization and pedagogical skill, with particular emphasis on pedagogical skill.
Subject specialization may refer to a completed degree at the doctoral level. In addition to academic merits, experience from other activities, such as technical development, may also be considered.
Pedagogical skill refers to educational and teaching merits. In addition to academic merits, educational and teaching merits from other activities, such as supervision, internal training, or mentoring programs, may also be considered. When assessing pedagogical skill, pedagogical quality should be the primary consideration. The scope, both breadth and depth, should also be given significance. In assessing pedagogical skill, special weight will be placed on merits in teaching within computer science; particularly in subjects related to the current course.
Furthermore, the ability to plan, initiate, lead, and develop education and teaching, as well as the ability to connect teaching to research based on research in the current subject, subject didactics, and higher education pedagogy, will be given significance. The ability to interact on higher education pedagogical issues with actors within and outside the university is also part of the pedagogical skill.
Administrative skill is significant for the position and will be given weight.
Other skills: Experience with study administrative systems and learning platforms used at Uppsala University (e.g., Canvas and Ladok) is meritorious for the position and will be considered.
All merits must be documented so that both quality and scope can be assessed.
In this recruitment, the University will primarily consider the candidate who, after a qualitative holistic assessment of competence and skill, is judged to have the best prerequisites for carrying out and developing current duties and contributing to a positive development of the operations.
Additional information

About the position
