Are you drawn to being at the center of the action? Do you have a systematic approach to work and experience in logistics within the Swedish Armed Forces? We are now recruiting Logistics Officers to the Logistics Division of the Operations Directorate at the Supreme Command.
About the Division
The Operations Directorate (OPL) is divided into 10 divisions according to NATO structure, with divisions J1–J9 and a staff division. J4 is OPL's Logistics Division, currently consisting of three sections – Execution, Planning, and Host Nation Support (HNS) – which support the Chief of OPL in the planning, direction, execution, and follow-up of operations and peace-support missions, both within NATO and individually, nationally and internationally.
OPL exercises command over the Swedish Armed Forces' three service branches, military districts, and the joint functional units FMLOG and FMTIS. J4's areas of operation and responsibility cover all logistics functions (transport, technical service, supply, other logistics support, and medical services), and the work is conducted in close contact with subordinate units and NATO staffs.
Main Responsibilities
The role of Logistics Officer at J4 is multifaceted and covers several areas. Duties include participating in OPL's planning groups (JOPG), where you contribute your expertise to the planning process. Furthermore, you will participate in various types of meetings for exercise activities, logistics boards, etc., with DUC as well as with NATO staffs, different authorities, and other civilian actors. The role also involves contributing to various order sets such as operational plans (OPLAN) with their various logistics annexes and FragOs for the execution of various missions, all of which are written in English. The role may also involve supporting the management of operations in OPL's Joint Operations Center (JOC), where you will contribute to ensuring that the common operational picture covers important logistical aspects.
Within the section, you will be responsible for and participate in the development of the use of NATO's support and management system LOGFAS, which is currently being implemented for logistics management. You will also support the section chief in handling various incoming matters.
