Do you want to work with simulator technology in a unit where you directly support the training and exercises of the battalions? As a Simulator Officer, you work close to the operations and contribute to planning, conducting, and supporting training and exercise activities.

The position offers varied tasks with good opportunities for development. You are given the opportunity to deepen your knowledge within simulator technology and participate in the development of new equipment. The role also involves independently driving projects. You become an important part of the regiment's operations, contributing as a key player in the development of future support systems.

About the Section

The Simulator Section is part of the Training Unit at the Life Guards and has the task of supporting the battalions with various types of simulators. The operations include the deployment of several simulator models, user training, and support during exercise activities.

The section is responsible for both training platforms and warehousing where various simulator systems are included. The section also participates in the development and introduction of new simulator equipment.

Main Responsibilities

In the role, you are responsible for leading the work with the distribution, training, and handling of the regiment's simulator equipment. You plan, conduct, and follow up on training together with colleagues and are responsible for troubleshooting, simple repairs, and associated administration. The position is performed both at the regiment and in the field, where you periodically participate in and support battalions during exercises.

You are responsible for ensuring that the battalions have the right competence and a sufficient number of instructors to conduct larger technology-supported exercises. The role also includes ensuring good order and availability of equipment at the section and warehouse, as well as being the contact person for the battalions. Furthermore, you participate in the development and introduction of new simulator equipment with internal and external actors. The work is sometimes physically demanding and may involve working on and around vehicles as well as handling equipment in field environments.

Qualifications

  • Specialist Officer Degree
  • Category B Driver's License (manual transmission)
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who has good teamwork skills and thrives in a team-oriented environment. You are clear in your communication and have the ability to work independently and structured even at times of high tempo.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Merits

  • Instructor on PATGB300/360.
  • Experience working as an instructor at a rifle battalion or equivalent within the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English
  • Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces' support system (PRIO)
  • Military driving license C, TPTGB, forklift license
  • Experience working as a StriSimPC exercise leader

The Life Guards is one of the largest units of the Swedish Armed Forces, with roots dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel who will conduct international missions. We guard the royal palaces, we have security and ground combat units.
