Do you have knowledge of nature's values and want to contribute to the conscious management of natural resources? Sweco's biologists create solutions to protect nature and biological diversity.

We are now looking for a nature environment consultant with field experience who can complement our team in the northern region.

Your future role

As a case manager in nature environment with us, you will work on various projects together with our competent colleagues at Sweco. You will have opportunities to develop in your role and take responsibility. We work closely with our customers in both large and small projects and place great emphasis on creating sustainable collaborations with our clients.

In your new role, you will, for example, work with:

• Nature value inventories of various natural environments
• Inventorying specific species groups you have competence in, such as birds, bats, or amphibians
• Writing reports as a basis for permit assessments, municipal plans, and infrastructure planning
• Conducting species protection investigations
• Developing adaptations, protective measures, and compensation measures to minimize damage to biological diversity and create new nature values
• Supporting our customers in how to make their projects viable with regard to biological diversity

The position also includes monitoring the external environment and processing and developing our market through customer visits and marketing of our services, to both new and existing customers.

The person we are looking for – is it you?

You who are applying have a great interest and experience from inventory work. You have good field experience and may have in-depth species knowledge within a specific species group. You are focused on either the terrestrial or limnic environment. The work is often independent, but there is of course the possibility of support and collaboration with other colleagues. As a person, you are engaged in the job, with a desire to take care of our customers as well as your colleagues. You understand our customers' challenges and needs.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a college or university education in biology, ecology, or equivalent
• Has a few years of experience working with nature environment
• Has experience with inventory and nature value assessment. Experience with nature value inventory according to Swedish standard (SS19900:2023) is an advantage
• Has good knowledge of Swedish natural types and good species knowledge. Preferably in-depth competence in one or more species groups, preferably birds
• Has an easy time expressing yourself in speech and writing and is accustomed to writing texts and reports
• Has good GIS knowledge
• Has a B driver's license

Possible locations

As a starting point, placement will be at one of our offices in Kiruna, Gällivare, Jokkmokk, Boden, Luleå, or Piteå.
