We are now looking for you who want to take on the challenge as an operational project manager for Subtopia's children and youth activity, Do It Together.

About the Role

As an operational project manager, you handle the daily work at Do It Together. The role requires you to be self-sufficient and street-smart. You recruit and supervise the young people who are brought in to carry out the projects. The activity is based in Subtopia's premises but also takes place in other locations both within and outside the municipality, such as pop-up activities and participation in other programs. The role is responsible for transportation related to activities at external locations. A large and important part of the job is coaching and mentoring young talents. Your role is to listen, lift up, and support young people, both the hourly employees we bring in and the young people who come with ideas they want to realize. Depending on your qualifications and interests in your aesthetic expressions, you will lead activities based on your knowledge. You should be able to prepare and conduct various children and youth activities such as dance lessons, recycling crafts, face painting, theater workshops, and music courses. Depending on your qualifications, you will lead the activities yourself or bring in suitable course leaders. Projects can range from one day to a full semester of work. The role includes applying for external funding, managing project budgets, contacting existing and new partners, and ensuring that necessary permits for public events are in place. You will also purchase and manage the materials needed for the various activities. To some extent, the role involves handling basic stage technology in connection with performances and conferences, including tasks such as stage construction and rigging of basic sound and lighting equipment to ensure the technology works during events.

Examples of tasks:

• Apply for project funding.
• Plan and lead various courses, projects, and artistic processes.
• Contact with partners.
• Structure and schedule the activity.
• Write and formulate contracts.
• Coach and act as a mentor for young people in realizing their artistic ideas.
• Handle basic technology in connection with performances and conferences.
• Stage construction and rigging of technology.

Qualifications

You have experience working with children and young people.

You are used to collaborating and are not afraid to let in others' ideas.

You have managed budgets and can express yourself well in speech and writing.

We see that you have the competence to lead workshops and courses in one or more areas, e.g., within dance, theater, music, circus, visual arts, and design. You can and have led several projects from start to finish.

We would like you to have documented experience or education in some of the areas mentioned above.

Requirements

• Experience working with children and young people.
• Swedish and English in speech and writing.
• Experience leading groups.
• At least one aesthetic expression.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.

About Subtopia

Subtopia is a 15,000 sqm production site for culture and experiences located in Botkyrka, Alby. Here you will find artists, film producers, circus companies, set builders, non-profit organizations, social entrepreneurs, and other creative companies.

Subtopia's goal is to enable art and community-building cultural production at all levels, both non-profit and commercial, together with the actors in the area. Subtopia offers premises for both permanent tenants and commercial short-term rentals.

Subtopia is part of the municipal limited company Upplev Botkyrka AB and functions as the provider for Botkyrka Municipality's initiative within culture and creative industries.

Do It Together

Do It Together (Gör det tillsammans) is Subtopia's creative children and youth activity. The activity consists of courses, projects, coaching, and project collaborations with external actors.

Terms of Employment

Permanent employment 100% with a 6-month probation period.

Working hours vary, and evening and weekend work occur regularly depending on ongoing projects. Travel with overnight stays may occur.

The position is on-site (not remote).

The position involves employment at Subtopia, a part of Upplev Botkyrka AB, which is a wholly-owned municipal company.

Start date as soon as possible, or by agreement.
