Why work with us?

Within Sweco's environmental organization, we operate within a large number of competence areas. We are a stable and profitable business unit with high employee satisfaction and good camaraderie. We prioritize collaboration, development, and building long-term customer relationships. We work with variety, freedom, and significant personal responsibility. Within Sweco Environment Region North, we want to strengthen our competence in investigating reindeer husbandry and conducting reindeer husbandry analyses. We are therefore looking for new colleagues who want to contribute competence and experience to Sweco's reindeer husbandry operations.

We currently have a specialized team working together on reindeer husbandry issues. We have meetings every week where we help each other with assignments. Sweco has good support materials for working with reindeer husbandry issues, and a major focus of the job lies in jointly making assessments.

Your future role

As a consultant specializing in reindeer husbandry, you will work on investigations regarding how various operations or new establishments, such as mining, power lines, or wind power, can affect the interests of reindeer herding. In your work, you contribute to a constructive dialogue between parties who often have very different views on the degree of impact, and you need to feel confident in being an objective party that guides the parties through the process.

Other tasks within the environmental field, such as work with infrastructure, questions about wildlife crossings, environmental impact assessments, nature value inventories, wind power, or aquatic environments, may also become relevant depending on your competence and interest.

The person we are looking for - is that you?

You have a relevant educational background (post-secondary degree in a relevant subject area). You have good knowledge and understanding of reindeer husbandry issues and relevant work experience in the field.

You have knowledge of applicable laws and rights and may have previously worked with, for example, EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), planning processes, environmental law, nature inventories, and/or wildlife biology within government agencies, municipalities, or consulting firms. It is a great advantage if you have experience in dialogue with Sami villages and/or have an established network with Sami villages in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, or Jämtland counties.

As a person, you are communicative and adapt your communication to your counterpart. You need to be receptive, able to build and maintain trust, and able to handle changed conditions and uncertainties. You can drive your work forward and take responsibility for completing projects. You enjoy working independently as well as being part of and contributing to a team.
