We are now looking for a Field Application Engineer for the Nordic operations – a role for you who thrives both out in the industry and process plants as well as in technical discussions with customers.

Here you will work closely with customers in their operations, assist with technical challenges, and contribute solutions that create operational reliability and efficiency in our customers' process environments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Field Application Engineer at Pepperl+Fuchs, you will have a central and customer-facing role where you act as the technical link between customers, the sales organization, and internal specialist functions. You will work both operationally and consultatively to support customers and colleagues technically regarding Pepperl+Fuchs products and solutions within process automation.

The role is about as much about understanding the customer's business and building trust as it is about the technology itself. You will work closely with maintenance, operations, production, and technical functions at the customer site and help them find the right solutions for their facilities.

You will actively participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, training, and field projects. The role also involves practical work where you assist customers with installation, adjustment, commissioning, and troubleshooting of products and solutions.

This is a role for you who enjoys the combination of technology, people, and realistic problem-solving.

Examples of responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers and the sales organization in the Nordics, primarily Sweden.
• Act as a technical advisor in customer dialogues and projects.
• Conduct customer visits, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
• Assist customers with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Work with process automation, sensors, data communication, and industrial interfaces.
• Participate in product launches and the introduction of new solutions to the market.
• Contribute to trade fairs and customer events.
• Document activities and customer dialogues in the CRM system.
• Collaborate closely with both Nordic colleagues and the headquarters in Germany.

You will preferably be based out of the office in Kungälv and travel primarily within Sweden, but travel to other parts of Europe and Pepperl+Fuchs headquarters in Germany also occurs.

YOUR PROFILE

We believe you have a technical background in automation, electrical, maintenance, or industry – but above all, we believe you are a person who thrives with customers and appreciates a role where technology meets people and business.

To succeed in this role, you need to be communicative, solution-oriented, and unpretentious. You need to be able to build trust with customers, collaborate with colleagues, and explain technical solutions in a pedagogical manner in the field.

You do not need to be the most theoretical specialist in the room – but you need to have a good technical understanding and be comfortable in industrial environments.

Perhaps you currently work in another technical, customer-facing role within the process industry or automation and are driven by new technology – then this is the role for you.

We would like you to have:

• Several years of experience from the process industry or industrial facilities.
• Experience in process automation and industrial control systems.
• Understanding of PLC/DCS, sensors, data communication, and industrial interfaces.
• Experience with practical commissioning, troubleshooting, or technical field work.
• Education in electrical engineering, automation, or a similar field.
• Good experience with customer contact and technical dialogues.
• A business- and service-oriented mindset.
• Good teamwork skills and communicative strength.
• Good system proficiency and experience with CRM systems.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• A valid driver's license (Category B) and the ability to travel for work.

It is an advantage if you have previously held a role that combined technology and customer contact.
