Gransäterskolan is looking for an experienced and development-oriented special needs educator who wants to have an overarching and strategic role in the school's work with student health, learning, and school development – and who is driven by creating good conditions for every student's development.

About the workplace

Gransäterskolan is a two-parallel F–9 school with approximately 500 students, where safety, relationships, and a clear focus on knowledge with high expectations permeate the operations. Our premises also house the municipality's special education group, Aspen, which contributes broad competence and an inclusive perspective.

Collaboration with external actors, such as the police and social services, is a natural part of our preventive and safety-building work.

About the assignment

This is a role primarily at the school-wide level where you focus on developing, coordinating, and strengthening the school's joint work within student health, special support, as well as health-promoting and preventive measures.

You work closely with the school leadership and are an important part of the school's systematic quality work with a focus on results, goal fulfillment, and equity. The assignment largely involves creating structures that last over time and contribute to students receiving the right support at the right time through more accurate and preventive work.

A central part of the role is close and continuous collaboration with the school's lead teacher in pedagogical development work, where the quality of teaching and student progression are in focus.

You also collaborate closely with the student health team, work teams, and special teachers, where you have a complementary and coordinating function with a focus on creating good holistic solutions for students – while special teachers are responsible for subject-specific support in mathematics and reading and writing development.

Part of the position also includes work related to the municipal special education group located in the school's premises.

The assignment includes among other things:

• Overarching development and coordination of the school's student health work with a focus on preventive and health-promoting measures
• Support to school leadership in systematic quality work, analysis of results, and development needs
• Development, follow-up, and investigation of the school's structures and students' needs for special support
• Guidance and consultative support to educators, work teams, and special teachers
• Coordinating and close collaboration with the student health team, lead teachers, and pedagogical staff
• Participation in and development of the municipal special education group

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a trained special needs educator and who have:

• Documented experience of overarching work at the school level
• Very good and documented experience of systematic quality work
• Ability to work strategically with both preventive, health-promoting, and remedial perspectives
• Experience in analyzing results and translating this into development work
• Good collaboration skills and habit of working closely with school leadership, student health, and pedagogical staff
• Ability to create structure, direction, and common focus in collaboration with others
