Social Worker at Lund Municipality – Supporting Vulnerable Groups
Lunds kommunSkåne län, Lund
Previous experience is desired
Are you a solution-focused person passionate about supporting society's most vulnerable groups? We are now looking for social workers with a genuine interest in working with individuals who have experienced homelessness, harmful substance use, addiction, and/or mental health issues. We will be expanding our operations this autumn, so we are looking for new colleagues who want to contribute!
About the role and your responsibilities
Here, you will have a varied, independent, and important job working with residents of Lund who have or have had harmful substance use/addiction and/or suffer from mental health issues.
Your role involves assessing the client's support needs, creating implementation plans and assessing capabilities together with the client, conducting regular evaluations, and participating in SIP (Interagency Social Services Planning) and other important meetings. We collaborate broadly with, for example, social secretaries, relatives, guardians/administrators, and regional/primary care. Your daily work is based on each client's individual implementation plan, which may involve support with, for example, cleaning, cooking, and shopping. You motivate towards activity and engagement, both inside and outside the housing, to break isolation, and you work towards independence, self-sufficiency, and long-term independent housing.
Regular documentation is part of your work with us.
For support in your work as a social worker, in addition to your manager, you have access to a pedagogical coordinator, a unit administrator, and a team of colleagues who support and strengthen each other.
We are looking for you
We are looking for you who have completed a university degree or vocational higher education (YH) with a focus on social psychiatry, social pedagogy, social work, or other education that the employer deems relevant. We would appreciate it if you had work experience within addiction issues, social psychiatry/comorbidity, and knowledge of the target group.
Important qualities for succeeding in this role are patience, curiosity, and creativity to come up with new ideas for activities. You need to have good collaboration skills, the ability to create structure, plan, and take responsibility. You are humble, clear, and see the equal value of all people. We work with client participation and see our tenants as part of the team; therefore, you need to be able to adopt the working method we use and meet the tenant where they are. You need to have good self-awareness, be able to lead yourself, and make well-founded decisions based on the best interests of the operations.
You need to have knowledge of social documentation, and if you have previously worked in the Lifecare system, it is an advantage. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
About the recruitment process
In this recruitment, we apply rolling selection. In this recruitment process, we have chosen to remove the cover letter and replace it with selection questions to contribute to an inclusive and equal recruitment. Your answers will become an important part of our selection work.
The first interview will be conducted in week 23, and a potential second interview during week 26.
For candidates who proceed to a second interview, a personality test will be conducted.
Hiring will take place continuously during the autumn depending on placement, starting no earlier than September.

About the workplace
The unit has two different interventions, one of which is "Housing First" with a focus on remaining in housing and taking over the apartment contract. The second intervention is a motivational housing where clients rent their apartments second-hand, and where staff have offices and common areas with the clients. The goal is to help clients move on to their own long-term housing and strengthen capabilities/connect to other support, so that the client becomes as independent as possible. Clients live with us on average for 6-18 months. Our working method is continuously developed to meet the needs of Lund residents in the best possible way, and we hope you want to help us become even better. We are a cheerful group that welcomes new colleagues with open arms. The work group with the manager likes challenges and development, and we have a common motto: "there are no problems that don't have a solution, and together we find it".
You will receive a thorough introduction to the work, good opportunities for competence development, and continuous support from your colleagues and manager. Our unit is characterized by a positive spirit, and we are committed to finding the best support for our clients, both practically and psychologically.
