Since 2021, the Sami Parliament has had the government's mandate to serve as the focal point for Articles 8j and 10c of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The work involves coordinating Sweden's implementation by, among other things, acting as the focal point towards the CBD Secretariat and involving other authorities and actors who play a central role in the implementation of these articles in Sweden.
Responsibilities
You will work as a coordinator for the Sami Parliament's mandate as the focal point. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting, coordination, planning, and implementation of traditional knowledge in accordance with Articles 8j and 10c of the CBD. The coordination tasks also include informing, developing competencies, and creating networks with knowledge holders, authorities, and other central actors to strengthen and highlight traditional knowledge in various decision-making processes.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic education. Extensive knowledge of Sami society and very good English skills are required. Experience from public administration, project management, and knowledge of the Sami language are meritorious.

You must be able to work independently and meet deadlines, have good analytical skills, see opportunities, be service-oriented, and quality-conscious. You are proactive but also have a strong ability to collaborate. You should be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You are outgoing and have an easy time building contacts and inspiring trust.
What We Offer
All employees receive 2 hours of fitness time per week as well as a fitness allowance. The Sami Parliament also offers a very favorable commuter allowance. There is also the possibility of partial remote work, and we apply flexible working hours. Vacation days are age-based, meaning 28, 31, or 35 days per year. Employment Type
Full-time. Permanent, though the Sami Parliament may apply a 6-month probation period. Start date: by agreement.
Location
At one of the Sami Parliament's offices in Giron/Kiruna, Jåhkåmåhkke/Jokkmokk, or Staare/Östersund.
