School absenteeism is a serious societal problem that the school cannot handle alone. Therefore, Dals-Ed Municipality established a school social team in 2024 to promote attendance and prevent problematic school absenteeism. Completing education is one of the most important protective factors in preventing exclusion, substance abuse, and ill health.

The position within the school social team is initially for 2026. If the school social team is not extended, the position and tasks will be transferred to another area within the Social Services Board's jurisdiction.
Dals-Ed Municipality also works based on the "Backa Barnet Dalsland" model, which means early and rapid interventions in collaboration between schools, social services, healthcare, and the police. The working model puts the best interests of the child at the center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of Social Secretary within the school social team includes mapping, investigation, and operational work with students and guardians. You will serve as a bridge between social services and schools, with extensive collaboration across different school settings. Other duties include processing cases concerning children and young people according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law of Care of Young Persons (LVU), as well as following up on interventions. This means you investigate and make decisions on interventions according to current legislation and are responsible for following up on the interventions you have decided upon. In meetings, we work to increase children's participation and ensure that children and parents experience good treatment. You work independently as the responsible case officer, but have access to co-case officers when needed. As an employee, you have good access to support and guidance from the Senior Social Secretary and the Unit Manager. We work with creative solutions based on each individual's needs and conditions. The work requires a positive attitude towards both clients and colleagues, as well as a good ability to cooperate and collaborate both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for you who are a social worker with experience in authority exercises within the field of children and family. You have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. The position requires that you can work purposefully, legally secure, and efficiently. You are driven, responsible, and have a good ability to collaborate with various actors. You should have a good ability to structure and plan your work. We would appreciate if you have experience working with children and young people in complex situations. You have a great interest in children and young people developing according to their abilities and want to work with early interventions to promote school attendance, well-being, and ultimately the opportunity to achieve upper secondary school eligibility. As a person, you have the ability to see the different needs of children/young people and take into account their individual conditions. You have an open attitude and an inclusive approach. We place great importance on teamwork, flexibility, and personal suitability. In the overall assessment, great weight will be placed on personal qualities and suitability. Experience with BBIC and knowledge of Procapita/Lifecare are meritorious. A driver's license is required.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent employment, probationary period may apply
- Earliest possible start date according to agreement
- Full-time (100%)
- The work is scheduled during daytime, but evening work may occur in certain situations
