We are currently seeking a Operations Manager for an established sheltered housing facility with approximately 10 employees. To protect the identity of our locations, we are keeping the facility's name confidential in this advertisement. Candidates invited for interviews will, however, be informed of the specific location.
The position is office-based at our collective housing facility in Southern Sweden. The role involves travel to our apartments in various locations in central and southwestern Scania, as well as potential travel elsewhere in Sweden for training and conferences.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The sheltered housing facility is an established operation offering both 24/7 staffed collective housing and independent apartments. Due to licensing requirements and new framework agreements, the organization is entering an exciting phase of development. As Operations Manager, you will have significant opportunities to influence and shape the organization's future growth.
We provide shelter for individuals from groups such as victims of domestic violence, honor-based violence and oppression, criminal defectors, and human trafficking. Children and animals are also welcome as protected individuals alongside their adult guardians. It is possible to bring dogs to the office.
The staff has jointly developed our value base, which is built on engagement, care, knowledge, and communication. Since we meet victims of crime daily during their most difficult days, it is crucial that we have a strong drive to help people fleeing violence, threats, and oppression. We go the extra mile and take pride in our work, knowing that we make a difference in people's lives.
We operate with a flat organizational structure that enables participation from everyone, both employees and protected individuals. Our work is guided by evidence-based research, laws, general advice, and guidelines. We strive to be transparent, open, and accurate, with an empathetic and professional approach to our surroundings.
ABOUT YOU
You are a secure, clear, and engaged leader with good collaboration skills and a service-oriented approach. You have extensive experience working independently and possess strong organizational and prioritization skills. As a person, you are communicative and professional in your interactions, and you value building long-term relationships that create trust.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Manager has overall responsibility for:
- Development work and visions that contribute to creating long-term sustainable structures for future growth.
- Budget responsibility.
- Personnel responsibility by further developing systematic work environment work.
- Contact and negotiations with trade unions and other organizations.
- Systematic work with quality assurance, follow-up, and improvement by developing the quality management system.
- Ensuring that the operation is conducted in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and permits.
- Drafting framework agreements and ensuring that the operation follows the terms of these.
- Leading and coordinating the management team.
You will have the board, child welfare officer, security chief, and the director of the collective housing facility at your disposal in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
The role requires that you meet the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's (IVO) requirements for a director of a sheltered housing facility.
You have:
- At least two years of work experience in a managerial or leading role within sheltered housing or similar operations (e.g., residential care for youth).
- A relevant higher education degree of at least 180 credits, such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or equivalent education.
- Cleared the mandatory background check from the Police and the Swedish Enforcement Service as part of IVO's suitability assessment.
- Very good knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).
- Very good knowledge of threats, violence, honor-based violence, and oppression.
- Experience in business development, startups, or change management.
- Good collaboration skills and a present leadership style.
- A valid Category B driver's license.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability, drive, and engagement.
Applications should be sent to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). Selection is made on an ongoing basis.
