Your Responsibilities

Omniglot is now looking for a native language teacher in Tigrinya at 10% in Gävle, starting in week 33.

As a native language teacher, you will teach children and young people in your native language outside of regular school hours, usually in the afternoon between 14:00–17:00, sometimes between 08:00 and 09:00 in the morning. This position covers two schools in Gävle, so you must be a resident of the city.

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning and conducting native language lessons;
• Managing student attendance and absence;
• Email contact with guardians;
• Grading and providing feedback;
• Reporting your working hours and maintaining close contact with Omniglot's central unit;
• Participating in professional development together with other teaching colleagues.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Lives in Gävle;
• Has Tigrinya as a native language;
• Speaks and writes Swedish or English fluently;
• Is proficient in computer skills;
• Is attentive to students' needs and interests;
• Is flexible and enjoys collaborating with colleagues, guardians, and school staff.

Teaching experience is an advantage.
