We are looking for a personal assistant for fixed hours to work with a 14-year-old boy living with his family in the Gothenburg/Askim area. The client has epilepsy (EP) and communicates using individual words. We are looking for you to be responsible, caring, and eager to strengthen our existing support team.

Your daily work involves supporting the client in tasks he cannot manage independently. Since you will primarily work in the client's home, it is important that you are humble, attentive, and respectful towards both him and his family. A significant part of the role is simply being present for the client and adapting to various environments. Due to the nature of epilepsy, heavy lifting or transfers may occur, requiring you to have good physical fitness.

The client enjoys horse riding, puzzles, traveling by bus/train, walking, and observing his surroundings. There is a rabbit in the home, and since the client loves animals, you must not be allergic to fur-bearing animals. This position is perfect for someone who can work at different times of the day, as shifts are typically scheduled for afternoons, nights, and weekends. We are looking for a flexible and creative person who can motivate the client to engage in suitable activities based on his daily condition.

The Assistant's Role and Experience

As a personal assistant, you are expected to work independently, be confident, responsible, positive, empathetic, and proactive. You should be able to identify opportunities and guide and motivate the client when needed, while also knowing when it is appropriate to step back. We work with a low-affective approach, meaning you need to remain calm and empathetic in your interactions.

Flexibility regarding working hours is essential, as the support team covers for each other during sickness or vacation to ensure continuity for the client. We work together to make the client's daily life as good as possible.

Desirable Experience and Requirements

• Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Not allergic to fur-bearing animals.
• Good physical fitness.
• Experience in personal assistance, childcare, or other care-related roles is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience with epilepsy is desirable.

Working Hours and Employment Degree

• Start immediately or as agreed.
• Working hours: Afternoons on weekdays, daytime on weekends, and nights every day of the week. During school holidays, daytime shifts are also available.
• The position is for 30 hours per week, with extended hours during school holidays. To fulfill the employment degree requirements, you must be able to work active night shifts.
