Habiliteringscenter Södertälje Children's Team is looking for a Counselor

About Us:

Habiliteringscenter Södertälje Children is a specialist clinic belonging to Habilitering & Hälsa. We provide interventions for children aged 0–17 with permanent disabilities such as autism diagnosis, intellectual disability, and mobility impairment. Our clinic is located in central Södertälje, with easy access to buses, commuter trains, and long-distance trains.

At Habiliteringscenter Södertälje, psychologists, counselors, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and special educators work together. We are currently 14 employees working together in interdisciplinary teams to facilitate daily life for people with disabilities. A common characteristic of our patients is a significant need for support in everyday life.

About the Position:

We are looking for a counselor for a permanent position, primarily for our team that provides interventions to children with autism diagnosis.

As a counselor with us, you will meet children and young people aged 0–17 as well as their network. You will work with psychosocial support for children, young people, and their guardians. You will support families with guidance and support regarding LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) interventions, authority contacts, and social support. You will hold diagnostic conversations with young people, lead parent groups, and provide individual parental support regarding crisis and grief.

Our patients often have complex needs requiring collaboration, not only within the team but also with neighboring care providers, municipal services, and other authorities. You will function as a guide for our families and direct them to various social support services. You are the team's specialist in social work and can support team members with their questions regarding societal support.

The tasks are varied and require flexibility, as you will not only meet patients at the habilitation center but also in their immediate environment when necessary.

We are looking for:

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker and have several years of professional experience. We would like you to have experience working with children and young people aged 0–17 with disabilities. It is an advantage if you are a licensed healthcare counselor and have good knowledge of LSS and the Insurance Office's allowances and benefits. You are accustomed to leading network meetings and enjoy leading parent and child groups.

You need to be able to work independently and take personal responsibility for planning, driving, and developing patient work, while also enjoying teamwork and collaborating well. You have a good ability to prioritize and are flexible in adapting your work to the needs of the operations. Personal suitability will be given great weight. References will be requested.

Employment Type:

Permanent position. Start date in August or as agreed.

Scope: 100%

The position is filled subject to it not needing to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Services (SLSO):

• A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
• Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
• Requires, in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
