Our client is looking for a Junior Technical Writer in Växjö who wants to work with technical documentation. Here you will develop your ability to understand and explain complex technology in a role with varied assignments within industry and defense.

About the role

As a Junior Technical Writer, you will work on producing instruction manuals, spare parts catalogs, and other technical information describing products and systems. You will analyze needs, requirements, and processes for technical documentation and collaborate closely with design and aftermarket departments. The role involves transforming complex technology into clear and easy-to-understand text for different target groups.

You will initially be employed by us at Academic Work and work on assignment for our client, with good opportunities for future direct hiring to the client company.

Responsibilities

• Write instruction manuals, manuals, and technical documentation based on existing material
• Create and update spare parts catalogs and product information
• Gather and analyze information from drawings, databases, and technical experts
• Interpret technical drawings, system descriptions, and product materials
• Transform complex technology into clear and easy-to-understand documentation
• Structure and organize information in a pedagogical way
• Adapt content to different target groups (e.g., technicians and end-users)
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, aftermarket, and other technical functions
• Work in documentation systems (e.g., XML-based tools)
• Quality assure and update existing documentation during product changes

We are looking for you who

• Have an engineering degree or other relevant technical education, for example in mechanical or electronics
• Have very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Have a strong interest in technical systems, the whole product, and its function
• Have good pedagogical skills and an interest in explaining technology
• Have the ability to read and interpret complex text

It is an advantage if you have

• Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or the defense industry
• Experience or education in technical information
• Experience of project work or coordination
