Our Organization

• Senior Social Worker: Distributes cases and provides close individual and group work and method supervision with high availability.
• Two Social Workers: Receive all incoming applications and reports, conducting safety and preliminary assessments.
• Seven Social Workers (Investigators): Investigate the child's need for support and assistance.
• Four Social Workers (Child Secretaries): Monitor children placed in foster care.

The Role

We are currently seeking an Investigating Social Worker. With an approach that involves making the family and their network part of safety planning and trust-building measures based on children's rights, there is ample room for creative social work already in the investigative phase.

The work is challenging, varied, and constantly evolving. If you are new to the role, you will be offered an introduction in the form of guidance and support from the Senior Social Worker. You will also be part of the Gothenburg Model's Professional Journey and Skara's own Case Handler School.

Who are you?

You should have a mature and insightful "inner leader." The ability to lead yourself in your work is a crucial trait for a position within social services. Guided by the motto "leading yourself," you have strategies to handle the "ups and downs" of the work; periods of pressure and stress alternate with calmer periods. You are collaborative but also capable of working independently, seeing opportunities instead of obstacles. You are curious and interested in how leadership and teamwork function together in a politically governed organization.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work or education equivalent to the requirements set by the National Board of Health and Welfare for handling child and youth cases.
• Good ability to communicate in speech and writing.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).

Additional Information and Benefits

We work based on the "Signs of Safety" approach, where basic training was conducted in 2024 and the method is now being implemented throughout the entire operation. We conduct workload measurements for occupational health purposes, and all social workers have external supervision.

Skara Municipality has a well-developed outpatient care system within social child and youth services. The Child and Youth Unit, Resource, consists of 10 family therapists and 3 foster care secretaries.

The position is permanent and full-time, with immediate start according to agreement. Recruitment begins immediately and continues throughout the application period. The position may be filled during the recruitment process. Probationary employment may apply.
