As my personal assistant, I also hope that you are flexible and can step in for extra shifts if needs arise.

It is difficult for me to summarize the role of my personal assistant and everything it entails. This is because personal assistance is a highly personal service based on individual conditions and needs. At the same time, my life is as diverse as yours when it comes to emotions, interests, and activities. To give you some clues, my interests vary depending on the season. I enjoy everything from swimming in my pool, cooking, and running with my marathon wheelchair to visiting museums, concerts, and the gym. The role of a personal assistant is varied, but with me, you can broadly say your role starts with these three parts:

1. You help me with all basic needs with a strong sense of integrity and respect.

2. You are my physical support, which means it is an advantage if you take care of your own health and enjoy exercising in your free time.

3. You are my engine in everyday life and, together with me and your colleague, are responsible for planning activities and following routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be characterized by you being kind, empathetic, and communicative, as that is how the collaboration works best. I turned 20 a few years ago, so my team is quite young; everyone is around 20–30 years old.

I am young and want to live as active and social a life as possible. Even though I cannot run on my legs, I roll through the races I participate in. Therefore, it is important to me that you, as an applicant, are active yourself and help me maintain and develop my interests. My life is like a rollercoaster—some days I have a lot of energy, other days I need rest and recreation. My epilepsy is complex, and although you will learn everything you need to know during the introduction, it is an advantage if you have experience with personal assistance to understand what your professional role entails.

Flexibility is important to adapt days based on current needs. My friends always come rested, patient, and open to sharing themselves, regardless of the conditions or obstacles I encounter in daily life. I want to complement you with someone who thinks similarly and does not view me as their patient. I demand high work ethics, which for you means being reliable and treating me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also calm and understand that your role is life-saving for me. Understanding relationship-building and variety in my life creates the best conditions for us both. Personal assistance means living a meaningful life with self-determination, which you contribute to most through interaction.

The role of personal assistant means helping another person live their life. It implies a good ability to leave your own feelings and opinions outside of work, being eager to learn new ways of communication, and simultaneously understanding that I, just like you, have an emotional register that varies. You are equally engaged and empathetic whether I want to go out for a run (roll) or if I need to rest. There is room for you to share your interests, but conversely, you must always be positive towards mine.

As you understand, I place great importance on personal suitability. Developing a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for you who really wants to do the best for me by getting to know me and understands that long-term commitment is the key to success. Previous experience is not a requirement, although it is of course an advantage. Regardless, understanding the professional role weighs the heaviest. Being able to work in a structured and organized manner is essential to create security and predictability for me. Furthermore, I value you who are proactive and can work creatively and motivatingly together with me.

Below are some practical conditions for the position:

· Start date as agreed, preferably by early June - you start with an introductory schedule before being offered your own schedule. I am approved for round-the-clock assistance. You will never work 24-hour shifts, but it is important to know that you are awake at night. You have a good understanding of what it means to reverse your day and sleep during the day, to come fresh and rested to me in the evening. If you do not have previous night shift experience, you are of course also welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean your day gets 24 hours.

· Shifts with me can be full days 08:00-20:00, mornings 5–7 hours, and afternoons 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20:00-08:00. Some changes in times occur during the summer period 1/6–31/8.

· The introduction always starts with day shifts with me. In this way, we get to know each other properly, and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends (assistants) so everyone can collaborate.

· Any preferences I would like you to specify in your application, e.g., preferences for summer leave - we have a summer schedule from June 1 to August 31. During this period, the schedule may be slightly different.

· Unfortunately, I cannot employ people with fur allergies or tobacco users (including substitutes like white snus and e-cigarettes).

· Fluency in Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement, as well as swimming ability.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
