Description

Do you want to be part of our team? We are now looking for more support assistants for our group homes in Kungälv Municipality.

As staff with us, you will be part of a dedicated team. You will work to implement decisions within the LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and provide tenants with support and care in all daily situations. You base your work on the individual's needs, wishes, and desires, and utilize the resources and abilities each individual possesses.

In these positions, you will work days, evenings, and every other weekend. Some positions also include sleeping on-call duties.

Responsibilities

As a support assistant in our group homes, it is important to be able to motivate the individual to participate in activities, which becomes an important part of your daily tasks. The individual's daily routine, including chores such as care, cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, and leisure activities, is a natural part of your job to assist with in a motivating and pedagogical manner. Low-affective interaction is a central concept in your assignment.

You strive to work structuredly with clear pedagogy and social documentation.

Collaboration with different professional categories and the network around the individual is essential and should be conducted in a professional manner.

Qualifications

The job requires that you have a good attitude towards people, good teamwork skills, are open to change, have a reflective approach, and work according to agreed goals.

As a person, you should be clear in your body language, capable of handling the physical demands of the job, and solution-oriented.

Requirements

  • Approved upper secondary education from the Child and Leisure program, Care and Health program with a focus on disabilities, or trained support assistant.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Category B driver's license. For some positions, you also need access to a car to commute to work.

Merits

  • Experience from working in group homes or day activities.
  • Support Pedagogue education, ongoing or completed.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with clear pedagogy, challenging behavior, and alternative communication (AAC), such as sign language, pictures, and social stories.

How does our recruitment process look?

  • Selection and interviews are conducted continuously during the application period based on the operational needs.
  • You must be able to provide at least two manager references from your most recent employers. If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, internal references will be requested.
  • OBS! For this position, a background check is conducted in accordance with current legislation. Before an employment offer can be made, you must present an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register. The extract must not be older than six months. See the Swedish Police Authority's e-service for home care work with elderly and persons with disabilities.
