Göteborg City Mission is a non-profit, values-driven organization working to support people living in vulnerable situations. Together, we want to create a Gothenburg where everyone is included. A city where we meet the person, not the problem.

ABOUT US

Welcome to Brattås short-term housing!

"I am so grateful for my time here and for there being people like you. You really help people." - Resident at Brattås

Brattås is a drug-free short-term housing facility with 15 places for men and women aged 25-55 who need support due to mental health issues and co-occurring disorders, with or without addiction problems. We are located in central Kållered, Mölndal Municipality, with good opportunities for convenient commuting by public transport.

Brattås welcomes residents when more qualified support is needed to make life and daily routines function. Our mission is to offer a safe and stable existence and promote the conditions for a more independent life. Through professional, evidence-based, and individualized psychosocial support, we work together with the individual to maintain drug freedom and active participation in society. Through close collaboration with healthcare and social services, we create conditions for further planning towards a stable existence and, as far as possible, independent housing.

At Brattås, we believe that good professional treatment is crucial for the intervention to have positive effects. Being met with respect, empathy, interest, and clarity creates safety, trust, and participation. Good meetings create good reasons for positive life choices. We strive for residents to feel seen and valued, and to feel comfortable and safe both with the staff and in the housing.

ABOUT THE POSITION

At Brattås, we work with active support and motivational interventions to promote positive change for the people we meet. We value a safe and home-like housing environment as well as a high degree of participation and community in daily life. We actively work for good collaboration with healthcare and authority contacts where the individual's needs are at the center.

We offer support regarding the residents' daily activities and also conduct excursions and activities together with residents. We work based on the methods MI (Motivational Interviewing), LAB (Low-Affective Handling), RP (Relapse Prevention), and IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus). The work includes documentation and some practical household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and driving. Brattås offers a drug-free housing environment with sobriety support through RP and, among other things, drug tests in the form of breath and urine samples, as well as support to follow doctors' prescriptions for medication.

We are now looking for a housing assistant for a permanent position.

As a housing assistant, you are the contact person and are responsible for planning and implementation in collaboration with the individual. You will work with support and motivational work and safeguard a safe housing environment. The main task is to create a professional relationship, offer psychosocial support with the individual's needs in focus, and work for good collaboration with authorities and healthcare. As the contact person, you are responsible for creating implementation plans and reports according to IBIC and have a close dialogue with the responsible social worker.

With us, you will work together with a strong group of engaged colleagues who together want to make a difference for those we exist for. The staff group consists of a unit manager, coordinator, housing assistants, and a cook.

Work shifts alternate between day, weekend, and night shifts (on-call).

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for you who are interested in working in a operation that places high demands on your interpersonal skills. You have a great commitment to our target group and are relationship-building and confident with a good ability to support people with mental health issues, addiction problems, and social exclusion. You provide good and person-centered treatment and work with and from the individual's ability. You have the ability to create good collaboration with the individual's professional network and to involve the individual in their processes. You are structured and have a good ability to collaborate, while also appreciating independent work. You drive your own areas of responsibility forward and take great responsibility for developing yourself and your working methods as well as the operation as a whole. While you are grounded in a positive view of humanity and a clear focus on the user's needs, you see the importance of maintaining a good housing environment and take initiative where you see it is needed. You have good knowledge of social documentation.

We are looking for you who are a social worker, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or have another post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. Driving is included in the job, which means a B-driver's license is a requirement.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

We assume that you who apply for a job with us share our view that all people have the right to a place in our city, a home of their own, and a voice. Read more about our values here www.stadsmissionen.org/om-oss.
