We are looking for newly qualified nurses who want to become part of our trainee program at the Emergency Department of the Hospital in Ystad. The program is aimed at you who are interested in emergency care and who want a secure, structured, and pedagogical start in your new professional role as a nurse.

As a trainee nurse, you will have the opportunity during your first year to become confident in your profession and gain a good understanding of the care for the acutely ill patient, as well as the care flows at the emergency department. Your main placement is at the emergency department, with planned internships at care wards as well as AVA (Acute Care Unit) and IVA (Intensive Care Unit) to give you a broad and stable foundation for your further professional career.

The Emergency Department sees approximately 27,000 visits per year within medicine, surgery, urology, orthopedics, and gynecology. Here, several professional categories work closely together in a team-based approach. The unit has a responsible nurse around the clock, and day- and evening shifts are led in consultation with a responsible doctor who is a specialist in emergency care.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of trainee nurse, you will be introduced step-by-step to the work, together with a supervisor and a trainee colleague.

You are part of a mentorship program where you are assigned a mentor who follows you during your first year. There is scheduled time for reflection together with the mentor, individually and together with other new colleagues at the Hospital in Ystad. You also participate in the clinical base year and are offered training related to the care of acutely ill patients.

As a nurse at the emergency department, you are often the patient's first contact with care and play a central role in meeting, informing, and creating security for the patient and their relatives.

The work environment is varied and dynamic, with teamwork in focus. Our working hours are spread over all hours of the day and throughout the year. We also work with continuous education and training as well as scenario training so that you can feel strengthened in your role as a nurse at our emergency department.

Qualifications

We welcome you who are a registered nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.
