Educator & Cook for a Rural, Family-Run Parent Cooperative

Do you dream of a workplace where you are met by the tranquility of nature, where child groups are small and relationships are deep – and where you can combine pedagogy with from-scratch cooking? Then you might be the one we are looking for.

Who are we?

We are a small parent cooperative located in a rural setting, where forests, meadows, and nature are just outside the door and an integral part of the children's daily lives. Here, there is time to see each child, space to follow their curiosity, and the opportunity to work closely with both colleagues and families. Our work group is secure, well-being-focused, and characterized by warmth, engagement, and genuine collaboration.

About the position

The position is 80% and is split between the kitchen and work with the children (approx. 55% kitchen, 25% with children), starting August 1st. As we are a small operation, daily tasks and the balance between kitchen and childcare may vary, sometimes requiring flexibility and a forward-thinking approach.

As an educator here, you are a vital part of the pedagogical work. You help create a safe, creative, and developmental environment where children can explore, discover, and grow. We give you great trust in your professional role and value your ability to plan, take initiative, and lead child groups through meaningful pedagogical processes – often with nature as the starting point.

In the role of cook, you are responsible for preparing nutritious, well-made meals from scratch, as well as ordering and purchasing primarily food items. At our cooperative, mealtime is an important part of the day, and we place great emphasis on quality, taste, and nutritional content. You bake bread, plan menus, and handle ingredients with care.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have experience working with children, good knowledge of nutrition and kitchen hygiene, and a genuine interest in cooking. You are creative, self-reliant, and confident in taking responsibility, while thriving in a small operation where flexibility, collaboration, and closeness are a natural part of everyday life. We would also appreciate if you want to involve the children in the kitchen – through conversations about food, meal planning, and practical participation – thereby sparking their curiosity about food and health.

With us, you get not just a job, but a workplace where you become part of a community – where ideas are valued, decisions are close at hand, and you have the opportunity to influence both the operation and your own workday.

Please note: The facility is located outside public transport routes, so a personal car and a valid driver's license (Category B) are required.

We apply a probation period of 6 months, and a requirement to present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) will be imposed upon employment – for your and our safety!

For questions about the position, please contact Principal Ellen Nordquist by phone at 0793-37 65 49 or email your inquiries to [email protected].

The application deadline is June 14th.

We look forward to receiving your application!
