We are looking for a personal assistant for our 10-year-old child who needs support to participate in daily life both physically and communicatively. The child has cerebral palsy (CP) and autism, is very social, and has several strong interests. Your role is to help the child understand and be understood by their surroundings, and to provide emotional support when needed. This also includes facilitating physical activities such as dancing, playing, and stretching. The work has great variety, ranging from helping with transfers and picking up from school to researching information about various special interests.

The family consists of two parents, an older sibling, and a cat, which means you cannot be allergic to fur-bearing animals. The job involves following the family in their daily life and activities, both planned and spontaneous, which requires flexibility.

We are looking for someone who is attentive, empathetic, and confident in switching between different roles. You need to be able to take initiative when the situation demands it, but also know when to step back to allow the family's interactions and relationships to take center stage.

The role involves sometimes being active in play and activities, and at other times supporting the child in their interactions with others without being the center of attention yourself.

The child uses sign language, body language, and electronic communication aids to communicate. You will receive support in learning the child's way of communicating while simultaneously acting as a link between the child and their surroundings.

The work is physical and requires good physical fitness as assistive devices are not always sufficient. You need to be able to support the child practically in play and daily activities and help create opportunities despite physical limitations.

We believe you are a calm and perceptive person who is good at reading people and situations. You are clear and honest about what you can and cannot do, are not afraid to ask when something feels unclear, and find it easy to follow instructions and routines. At the same time, you are flexible and can adapt when plans change.
