About the workplace

Ersta Protected Accommodation is part of Ersta Diaconia and is Sweden's largest faith-based actor in care and social services, guided by a clear value base – seeing the human being.

We run two protected accommodations in different locations for different target groups. Our goal is to support women and children who have been exposed to violence and give them the opportunity for a safe start to a life free from violence. Our accommodations have high security standards, and we always base our work on our value base: seeing the whole person through professionalism, trust, and hope.

Ersta Fristad is a protected accommodation for women exposed to violence, with or without accompanying children. Placements with us are always made on assignment and in collaboration with social services. All assignments are adapted individually based on the needs of the woman and children.

The placed children have the opportunity to participate in children's activities during their placement period. The children's activities are open on weekdays and employ two educators whose task during the day is to normalize, stimulate, and activate. There is also a child coordinator at the accommodation who has additional responsibility towards the children and works closely with guardians and the children's activities.

We are located in Stockholm County, but we accept women with or without accompanying children from all over the country. We welcome and respect all religions.

You will be part of a work group consisting of various professional categories, such as social workers and treatment assistants, under the leadership of a group leader and operations manager.

About the role

In your role as a therapist in the operation, you work based on key worker (contact person) responsibility, where you receive emergency placements, perform safety planning, develop implementation plans, and maintain patient records.

We collaborate based on the woman's situation with social services and other authorities with the aim of achieving sustainable future planning based on the woman's opportunities. Together with the work group, you support the woman in social-curative interventions such as maintaining contact with authorities, healthcare contacts, social services, etc.

We work therapeutically with everyday situations and environments as the basis for change work. We place great emphasis on meaningful stays, and an important task is to participate in and encourage leisure activities.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and every third weekend.

This advertisement concerns a temporary position starting immediately until 2027-01-17, with a possible extension.

You are sensitive and handle difficult meetings with warmth and patience. You perform all parts of the work, both practical and theoretical, with great engagement and an empathetic approach.

Your experience

We are looking for you who:

• have a degree in social work, or alternatively another degree at the higher education or university level with a focus on social work
• have knowledge about violence in close relationships and honor-based violence
• have previous experience in social work
• have good knowledge of current legislation

We would appreciate if you have previous experience of authority exercise within social services, either related to children and youth or violence in close relationships. We also view positively if you have undergone training in FREDA, Patriark, ATV, or SARA:SV.
