We are now looking for an additional assistant for night shifts for our child client in Gråbo during Saturdays and Sundays in even-numbered weeks.

Who am I?

My name is Vilma and I am almost 5 years old. Until I was a little over two years old, I was like any healthy child. But then I was struck by a serious case of brain inflammation that caused significant brain damage, both physically and mentally.

Today, I need help with everything in daily life – playing, communication, tube feeding, mobility, and other care. I am a happy and curious girl who loves Pettson & Findus, painting, and bathing in our jacuzzi, which is also part of my rehabilitation.

I live in a house in Gråbo with my mom, dad, and my little brother. On weekdays, I go to preschool, which I love, and at home, I like to be where things are happening and to be entertained.

I have medical needs including epilepsy, medication, tube feeding, exercise/stretching, use of assistive devices, and constant supervision.

What does a night shift look like?

As a night assistant for me, you work a waking night because I require constant supervision. During the nights, I sleep, but I need supervision throughout the night due to my epilepsy and medical condition. You are responsible for, among other things, monitoring breathing and epilepsy signals, administering medication according to routine, turning me if necessary, and ensuring I am lying comfortably and securely.

When things are calm during the night, you have the opportunity to read a book, newspaper, or study quietly, as long as you are nearby and attentive to my needs.

Who are you?

You are a happy, positive, creative, and caring person who enjoys supporting others. Since I cannot move myself, you need to be physically fit and comfortable with lifting and mobility (assistive devices are available).

You are attentive, secure, sensitive, and responsible – especially important at night when you are the one watching over me. Experience in personal assistance, healthcare, or working with children is an advantage, but personal suitability is most important. Of course, you will receive an introduction and shadowing before you can work independently at night. Training takes place during the day so that I can get to know you and you me in a secure way.

About the position:

• Scope: approx. 20%
• Working hours: 21:00–08:00
• Start date: Immediately

This is a new assistance arrangement, which means we will build a secure and functional support system around me together.
