Night Assistant for Child with Disability in Gråbo
Passal ABVästra Götalands län, Lerum
Previous experience is desired
We are now looking for an additional assistant for our team for night work for our child client Vilma in Gråbo on Mondays and Tuesdays - odd weeks.
Who am I?
My name is Vilma and I am almost 5 years old. Until I was a little over two years old, I was like any healthy child. But then I was struck by a serious brain inflammation that gave me severe brain damage, both physically and psychologically.
Today I need help with everything in daily life - play, communication, tube feeding, transfers, and other care. I am a happy and curious girl who loves Pettson & Findus, painting, and bathing in our jacuzzi, which is also part of my rehabilitation.
I live in a house in Gråbo together with my mom, dad, and my little brother. On weekdays I go to preschool which I like very much, and at home I like to be where things are happening and to be entertained.
I have a medical need involving epilepsy, medication, tube feeding, training/stretching, use of assistive devices, and constant supervision.
What does a night shift look like?
As a night assistant for me, you work an awake night as I need constant supervision. During the nights I sleep, but I need supervision all night due to my epilepsy and medical condition. You are responsible for, among other things, monitoring breathing and epilepsy signals, administering any medication according to routine, turning me if necessary, and ensuring that I lie comfortably and safely.
When everything is calm during the night, there is an opportunity for you to read a book, newspaper, or study quietly, as long as you are close by and attentive to my needs.
Who are you?
You are a happy, positive, creative, and caring person who enjoys supporting someone else. Since I cannot move myself, you need to have good physical fitness and feel comfortable with lifting and transfers (assistive devices are available).
You are attentive, secure, responsive, and responsible - especially important at night when you are the one watching over me. Experience in personal assistance, care, or work with children is meritorious, but personal suitability is most important. Of course, you will receive introduction and shadowing before you can work independently at night. Training takes place during the day so I can get to know you and you can get to know me in a safe way.
About the position:
- Scope: approx. 20%
- Working hours: 21:00-07:30
- Start date: Immediately
This is a new assistance, which means that together we are building up a safe and functioning support around me.
Do you want to become part of my team and give me security during the nights?
The position starts immediately. We work with ongoing selection, so please send in your application as soon as possible!
