ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Human Factors Engineer, you will work in close collaboration with systems engineers, software developers, and technical designers in the development of advanced systems. The role operates in the borderland between humans and technology, with a clear responsibility to integrate the user perspective throughout the entire development process. The focus is on functionality, safety, and actual usability.

You have overall responsibility for how users interact with complex systems, where the interplay between hardware, software, and the operator environment is central. The work is characterized by a systems perspective on product development, where you ensure that human factors are considered in all parts of the solution. You analyze both physical ergonomics and working postures as well as visual and auditory aspects, and conduct evaluations using tools such as digital human models, VR, or established methods.

A central part of the role is requirements management, where you translate user needs into technical system requirements and specifications. You are also responsible for planning, conducting, and documenting testing and validation to ensure that requirements are met, for example through interviews, observations, and practical tests. The work also includes creating mockups and physical prototypes to enable early evaluation of solutions.

You will be part of cross-functional project teams and are expected to actively contribute to driving issues related to usability, safety, and functionality throughout the entire development chain. The role requires good technical understanding as well as the ability to communicate effectively between different areas of expertise. Opportunities for field studies and customer visits within Sweden are available.

For example, you will:

  • Identify and analyze user needs and translate them into technical requirements and system specifications
  • Drive and manage requirements management throughout the entire development process
  • Ensure a holistic perspective where the interplay between humans, hardware, and software
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate tests, validation, and ergonomic analyses
  • Work with prototypes, risk identification, and the development of design guidelines in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:
  • Have a university or civil engineering degree in areas such as ergonomics, product development, industrial design, or systems design
  • Have at least 4 years of work experience in Human Factors, ergonomics, or a related field
  • Have experience with relevant tools such as Creo, Jira, as well as Figma and/or Adobe Illustrator
  • Can communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, as these languages are used in daily work

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with CATIA
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methodology, for example according to INCOSE
  • Experience with ergonomic analysis methods such as RULA, REBA, or NIOSH
  • Experience working with digital human models or VR-based evaluation
