Description
Do you want to contribute to a secure and robust society? Kungälv Municipality is now strengthening its work within civil defense and crisis preparedness and is seeking two Security Coordinators with a focus on preparedness and continuity planning. Both Security Coordinators are located at the central security unit. One role has a municipality-wide focus, while the other is more operationally focused and oriented towards continuity management in two of the municipality's largest sectors.
The core mandate of the Security Unit is to coordinate and plan for the municipality-wide safety and security work. As a Security Coordinator, you will become a key person in the municipality's work with risk and vulnerability analyses, crisis preparedness, continuity planning, and civil defense.
Responsibilities
As a Security Coordinator, you lead and coordinate the municipality's work within crisis preparedness and civil defense. The assignment includes, among other things:
- working with preparedness and continuity planning
- identifying and analyzing vital societal functions
- conducting and developing risk and vulnerability analyses
- developing and strengthening the municipality's crisis organization
- planning and conducting training, exercises, and knowledge-raising initiatives
Together with colleagues at the Security Unit, you will work to ensure that Kungälv Municipality has a good ability to prevent, withstand, and handle societal disruptions.
In the assignment, you will have contact with public and private actors, voluntary organizations, and the general public. You will work closely with the administration's sectors and companies and conduct training and knowledge-raising initiatives within the area of operations. You will also participate in regional meetings with collaborating partners and in exercises with both internal and external actors.
The two positions have similar responsibilities, but with different orientations:
- One position focuses on municipality-wide preparedness and civil defense.
- One position is more operationally focused and primarily supports two larger sectors in their work with continuity planning and preparedness.
The Security Unit works within a broad area, and you are expected to be able to familiarize yourself with new subject areas and be helpful and supportive in the entire unit's mandate.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a relevant higher education degree at least at the bachelor's level or a corresponding vocational education focused on crisis preparedness or another area that the employer deems equivalent. You have documented experience of work within the professional field with a focus on crisis and preparedness work. It is meritorious if you have experience and familiarity with preparing cases, producing decision-making materials, and writing reports, and it is important that you have good administrative skills. Experience of working within municipal or other public operations is meritorious.
To succeed in the role, it is required that you are structured and have the ability to organize and prioritize your work in a structured manner to achieve desired results. You are also analytical, self-directed, and have a solution-oriented approach. You are calm, stable, and work well in collaboration with other people. You are skilled at building and maintaining relationships and have the ability to engage others in security work, which is crucial for creating effective security work.
The work requires that you have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
