About the role

Are you passionate about Water & Wastewater and want to help design sustainable water and sanitation (VA) solutions for both urban and rural areas? Ramboll Water is looking for a dedicated Water and Sanitation (VA) Designer to join our Water Infrastructure North unit. Here, you will work in an experienced and cohesive team on local and national projects — with the option to choose your base at one of our offices in Falun, Uppsala, Luleå, or Umeå.

What you will do

As a VA Designer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing water and sanitation pipe networks and associated facilities such as pump stations, manholes, culverts, and valves for municipalities, municipal water companies, property owners, and other clients.
  • Designing and dimensioning external water and sanitation systems on private property, including stormwater treatment facilities for purification, retention, and storage.
  • Hydraulic dimensioning and VA design in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, ranging from feasibility studies and preliminary design to detailed design and construction documents.
  • Preparing complete tender documents in accordance with AMA-Anläggning standards.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a university degree or vocational higher education in construction/land/water/environment or equivalent technical high school education, combined with relevant experience.
  • Has prior experience in VA design (a few years of experience is preferred, but not required).
  • Has good knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D / AutoCAD Civil 3D (not required).
  • Speaks and writes Swedish and English fluently.
  • Is unpretentious, positive, meticulous, responsible, and curious — we highly value personal qualities and engagement.

What we offer

  • A place in Water Infrastructure North — a group of approximately 20 colleagues with experience ranging from recent graduates to senior experts, working in an open and collaborative environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development within an organization with national and international resources, as well as the chance to deepen your expertise in green-blue infrastructure, modeling, and project management, depending on your interests.
  • Becoming part of Ramboll — one of Sweden's largest engineering, design, and consulting firms with over 1,800 experts across 30 offices, where sustainability, leadership, health, and work-life balance are prioritized.

Practical details

  • Location: Falun, Uppsala, Luleå, or Umeå (you choose your base).
  • Application: We only accept applications via our website. Please attach your CV and a cover letter explaining why you are the right person for the role. We process applications on a rolling basis — apply as soon as possible, but no later than 2026-08-16.
